Girls Fondue Night

I'm hosting a girls night fondue/martini party. I have 1 fondue set, 1 small crock pot (plus I'm borrowing 2 more).

I don't know much about fondue - I got my set as a wedding gift, over 3 years ago, and have never used it.

I'm going to do chocolate and cheddar cheese with assortments of dippers. But what other actual dips should we have?

Re: Girls Fondue Night

  • Warm crab dip

    Spinach/artichoke dip

    caramel

    marshmellow (smores)

    white chocolate

    sounds fun!

  • Oohhh. thanks! I didn't even think about things like crab dip or spinach dip! I have a great recipe for a warm crab dip!

     Thanks again!

  • We do a fondue party every year with some friends.  You may want to consider doing a traditional oil fondue as well- then you can cook meat and yummy veggies like stuffed mushroom caps.

For the chocolate we usually dip oreos, vanilla wafers, pound or angel cake, fruit and nuts.

Fondue prep can be a lot of work but it is really fun.  Have a blast!

  • check out meltingpot's menu. They describe what different fondues are made of and then you can probably google a recipe for that fondue.

I'd suggest having a small salad for each person too.

  • It has been a family tradition of ours to eat fondue on Christmas Eve (yeah my parents were hippies)- we always did the oil fondue (use peanut oil).

If you plan on potatoes, I suggest cutting them to size and par baking them (boil until half cooked). Also rolls are good to have as something to snack on! Sounds like fun!
