Stride Rite Shoes ?

Neena isn't walking yet (14 months) and a few people have suggested getting some stride rite shoes for her so that she feels more supported and balanced, which, in turn might give her the confidence to walk.

She has been cruising since 9 months old, walkling behind pushers (push toy, laundry basket, chairs,etc...) since 10 months, walking holding our hands since 12 months, but just not unassisted yet. I know there is no need to worry considering she is doing all of the above, so is it worth it to spend $40 on a pair of shoes? Will she get good use out of them? Are there shoes that are similar but cheaper?

I feel silly even fretting over this, but it's hard not to think about when people are constantly asking me if she is walking yet.

Re: Stride Rite Shoes ?

  • I know Andrea got Stride Rite shoes for Riley and Rory- she thinks highly of them.  Cindy also has them for Sawyer.... maybe it would help!  Although regardless, she'll walk when she is ready.  =)
  • Sawyer boy has some stride rites...we really like them...not the price though...but they do help my little bow legged baby stay balanced.  The lady at the store was super annoying and kept trying to push hard soled ones...we just bought the soft soled and hoped for the best...they are easy to put on him and he doesn't mind walking with them on his feet.  I was concerned he may not like shoes because of how long it took me to actually decide on a pair and buy him some...I was a big sock with grippies mama.  They get a good review from me. :)
  • Don't stress it Jenn! El JUST started doing the combat crawl, and she's almost 11mths, and she's just started trying to pull herself up. And I get the "Is she walking yet?" ALL.THE.TIME. I just smile and say no. people are nosey LOL
