The nursing home I work with is part of a chain of 14 nursing homes/assisted/independent living facilities in the midwest. In April, another facility will be opening about five miles from where I currently live.
Being pregnant and doing my current job (I'm a CNA) is exhausting. I was tired of being a CNA before I got pregnant. I think I'm going to talk to HR tomorrow and see if there are any positions available in non-nursing departments at the other facility. We were told a few weeks ago that we were more than welcome to apply at the new facility.
So... we'll see. I'm crossing my fingers for something in reception or the business office. Otherwise, I'll be scouring the paper every single day!
Re: Talking to HR
Don't want to go back to Lowe's??
I have a feeling that you would not be doing HR work the remainder of your pregnancy anyways. Hope that the receptionist thing works out.
What's the status with nursing school?
Are you telling them about the pregnancy as well, or just checking for a different job? Good luck!
My pregnancy has been common knowledge for a week now. Even the gal in HR knows and she's the person I talked to.
