burkems

omg I'm so glad I saw your post about the bridal shower.

I am a BM ( DH is a GM ) in a wedding this Spring.

There is a big huge bachelorette party in two weeks - starts at 9 am in Jersey and ends in NYC for dinner and a play --  not to forget the strip tease dance lesson, mani/pedi, and shopping inbetween.

I am so uncomfortable in large groups of people ( esp. girls ) and this is about 15 of them.

ugh.

Re: burkems

  • I know. It's like, I hate to be a party pooper, but really? All day? This isn't a big group of girls but I don't entirely like the rest of them, either.

BM 1: 16 yr old MOH. I like her, but she's 7 years younger than me, and I'm the next youngest in the bridal party. She has to feel out of place.
BM 2: The ex-wife of bride's ex-boyfriend. Bride started dating this guy (not groom) when he was still married to this chick. Bride and ex-bf dated for 4 years and she was practically the kids' stepmom. Ex-bf broke up with bride a week after they went ring shopping because he was cheating on her with some skank (and is now married to skank). Sound like an episode of Maury? I thought so, too.
BM 3: The wife of groom's cousin. She is nice, but extremely judgmental. She's one of those people who doesn't know she's being a rude b!tch. (Ex. I'm changing the baby and she says, "I have to laugh that you are still using Pampers. I stopped using Pampers after two weeks. It just doesn't make sense to spend SO much money on them." Um, really? Because I get them for the same price as Luvs because I shop at Amazon. I like Pampers. My baby, my choice.)
BM 4: Poor woman who just took the place of ousted BM.  We have only met once, but from what I know have very little in common.

I have it better than you, I think...my activities are clearly going to cost less and I'm with people I've actually met before. Good luck, and remember, it's never too early to start drinking!
