5.

Now that March has arrived, we are all hitting 5 Months!

Rants and Raves of the last 5 months?  Some things you've learned, still working on, don't even want to deal with yet?

Re: 5.

  • Comment said by DH:  "Wow, the day is approaching, it seemed like it'd never come right?"

You'd think that DH would have said this about 5 or 6 months ago about the wedding, right?  Nope, he said it this week about a brewing company beer tour he signed us up for months ago. Tongue Tied The tour is this weekend.

  • You're not alone Hannah, my H loves beer about as much as he loves me too.

I've learned, to my relief, that nothing has changed at all about our relationship.  Although, one of the things that has not changed is his ability to pick up his clothes.

  • LOL; DH loves his beer, so I was planning a brewery tour (to 3-4 local breweries in a chauferred car for him and his closest friends) for his 30th birthday next weekend.  He was rather adorable when I asked him about some details, when he said "can't we do something you can do too?" (I don't drink much, and don't like beer at all, so paying $140 for me to tag along seemed pretty stupid).

Later I find out he's not super into it because this is one of the things they did for his bachelor party... so he's already done it but didn't want me to think it wasn't a great idea :)

This. Exactly this! Nothing has really changed... even though everyone told us before the wedding that EVERYTHING would change once we were married. We didn't believe them, and they were wrong! lol

But, Steve leaves his clothes everywhere... mostly shirts. They are in the living room, hallway, bathroom, and even the kitchen! I saw one on the kitchen table this morning when I was leaving for work. WTF? LOL

This is so true.  I kinda wana go back to the a-holes that told us how different things would be after the wedding and tell them to kiss my asss.  Everyone has an opinion on marriage based on their life experiences, etc. so I took it with a grain of salt anyway.. but I'd still like to tell them their an a-hole. Big Smile

  • He has a blind spot where the laundry hamper is, and an inability to put water in the dishes in the sink to help get the excess food off, and I could do without him clipping his facial hair in the bathroom sink right next to my toothbrush, but other than that, it's been an easy 5 months. The only thing I'd truly change is to have both of us have full time jobs with normal 9-5 hours so we could have more sexy time, but alas, such is not in the cards just yet.
  • we had been together for 5 years, lived together for 4...so when i say its no different it really isnt....the only reason we didnt live together 5 years is that i moved home for internship...

Aw, Kenna! Did you think of something else to do instead?

I gave him lots of choices (I can arrange for you and the boys to go paint-balling or ATVing, I could take four of us to Magic Mountain (a big 6 Flags roller coaster place) or Disney Land, we could do a fancy fancy dinner, we could go hot air ballooning, you could go sky diving, we could go downtown and go to a club with bottle service, we could go away for the weekend... and he's all "I don't know, that's too many choices!"

What would you ladies do for your DH's significant birthday (remember, he's turning 30)???

  • Zach's turning 28, and we're going to see the St. Louis Blues square off against the Nashville Predators. I've never watched hockey except on tv, and never before I met him, so it'll be interesting. He's excited!

Hockey is actually quite awesome in person... I have never watched it on TV, but went to a game once (a friend got free tickets) and it was so much fun. I loved all the fights! LOL... I swear, I am not a violent person Angel But one time, two guys got in a fight at the goal (we were right behind the goal, 4 rows up) and one guy pulled the other's helmet off and started punching him in the face. It was crazy!

  • At least I'll have something to look forward to! I enjoy watching it on tv - even holler at the tv sometimes when a questionable call is made.

DH always teases me because I plan every detail when we go on trips and says that he doesn't think I could handle just getting in the truck and driving, so I might do that for his b-day this year.  I'll just pay for the hotels and gas wherever we end up.

  • Kenna- lots of good choices/ideas.

I'd choose something neither of you have done and that would be memorable, which isn't much help I'm sure

  • It's gone fast, like really fast! I am in such a sh!tty mood today, I can't seem to think of anything positive! Ugh! Sorry guys!

  • holy cow. We are just a month away from being married for 1/2 year. That is crazy!

Not much has changed. We have basically been living together two and a half years- and in the same house for a year. But since getting married we have been working more on our "issues" instead of just shrugging them off and not caring about eachothers feelings.

I say issues bc they are nothing major just like cleaning up and sharing chores and such. But we are working to get them to be near perfect so we don't drive eachother crazy 50 years from now. haha.

  • Today is our 5 month-a-versary.  It's flown by.

And no, marriage hasn't been any different from living together life. Only now people ask me how married life is instead of how the wedding planning is going.  At least they're not bugging me about babies yet.
