my mom's birthday is in a couple weeks and she said she would like something for gardening or getting her seeds going. I have never gardened in my life and have no clue about anything having to do with gardening. I have about $100 to spend- anything you ladies can recommend for me? she'd fairly new to this herself so she doesn't have much
Re: gifts for gardeners
Did she specifically want things to get seeds started or just gardening in general? For seed starting you can go to a local nursery and get sterile soil and the cartons to plant them in but odds are if she's done it before she has those things.
I'd personally love some nice Atlas gloves, a Radius hand tool or two (perfect for people with carpel tunnel, arthritis or achy joints...I have every one of these and love them!), and a gift card to a local nursery.
To start seeds, she could use some trays with heat mats and a grow-light cover, to create a mini-greenhouse.

My aunt gave me the Southern Living Garden Book as a house warming present. You can find it on Amazon.com for a really good price. It's an amazing book! I would recommend it for any gardener.
Another cool gift I found is on HomeDepot.com, it's a full garden kit. It comes with the garden bag and all the tools you need. It's about $70 if I remember correctly, but totally worth the price.
