Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Challenge #2 Instructions
Create a scene in which one character flatters another. Don't reveal the ulterior motive for the flattery right away. Let the person being flattered be so vain as to not notice the ulterior motive even once it becomes obvious.
Purpose: To use a character's ulterior motives as the driving force of a dialogue. Energetic dialogue always relies on a strong motivation; otherwise, it's simply aimless chatter. Different motives require different methods of communication. Selfish, manipulative motives go well with flattery. See what you can do with such a motivated dialogue.
Note: These challenges are from a book and they're sort of hard so if you want to skip a few of the rules, feel free!
