Baby swim?

We live out in the southeast valley and wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a place we can do swimming lessons with ds this summer? TIA!

Re: Baby swim?

  • i went through city of phoenix last year. it was 35 bucks for 4 weeks if i remember correctly, 3 days a week. it got him used to the water and i think was worth the money. i'll likely do that class with him again this summer (just for a refresher), and then move up to the next class.

  • I've seen tons of places around here but obviously I havn't checked into any yet. There is an Aqua tots on greenfield and southern and then anouther place (i forget the name) on val vista and guadalupe (behind Seranos)

plus i think Gilbert parks and rec offer swim classes as well

  • i looked into aqua tots and it was crazy expensive (imo anyway). i think the city's classes are fine for the younger age, and i even saw the older classes and they were doing some cool stuff too

  • Do they just offer these during the week or are the weekend classes too? I am just thinking for when I will be working next spring/summer.

for the city, they're all weekdays. same for phoenix also. i'm sure some of the other places have weekend classes, they were just way too expensive for me

  • Yea, that is what I was afraid of, maybe I can use these classes as another selling point for me to stay home Wink

  • Is there a Hubbard Swim School near you?  The offer free classed until 6 months and they are great. I have no experience with the others, but they look great.

  • Awesome thanks.... I hadnt even thought of ymca or city of gilbert. Hubbard is not too far of a drive so i may check thatout too! I really want the little guy to be comfortable and safe around water even though we dont have a pool.

  • yeah, it's definitely a good idea to get them used to water! you should also get a little play pool for the backyard when it gets warm enoughYes

  • We go to gold medal swim school. They're expensive but worth every penny, IMO. I see swimming not as a fun sport, but as a life skill that can and will save my childrens' lives some day.
