I love LS/Groupon and confession sessions.

Two movie tickets for $9? Yes, please. Now J & I actually have something to do this weekend.

Anyway, anyone have anything good to share? Confessions? Rants? Open letters? AWs? Shauni and Debdeb, how is 5k training? Is anyone else preggo my eggo yet?

Re: I love LS/Groupon and confession sessions.

  • since the voucher is through fandango can anyone get it?
    imageAnniversary
  • Yeah, you just use the Voucher at Fandango to purchase your tickets (which can be used at Regal and United Artist theatres).

  • We're going to the movies anyhow this weekend, SCORE!

    Thanks for the heads up!!!

  • groupon isnt in NH or VT yet...lamesauce.  and there are no fandago accepted theaters by us either!  oh rural places...

my 5K training makes me feel depressed.  some days i can run a mile and a quarter, walk a quarter, and then run another mile and a quarter, and then other days (ahem, monday) i could barely run/walk a mile and a half.  i called my friend who runs marathons for fun and she was encouraging and says that happens to her all the time.  she gave me some pointers and i will be back on the treadmill today (took yesterday off).  hoping for a better performance from myself!  2.5 weeks to go from today!  SO SCARY.

steffi, how is your training going??

  • Shauni, I definitely think that is normal - you're going to have your good days and bad days. It's good that you're listening to your body though instead of pushing yourself too far and injuring yourself. I've been running outside more lately (thanks, warm weather) and I find that to be SO much more enjoyable than the friggin' treadmill. I don't know what it is, but I feel like I can run faster, longer and the time passes quicker. Zoning out and music helps though.

I'm kind of anxious because the MCM10k registration opens up a week from today - J and a friend of ours are planning to do it this fall, and right now the thought of running double what I can do now makes me want to die.

  • Shauni, are you on dailymile?

  • I'm doing okay with my training.  I can't run every day though.  I try to do it every other day.  I hope to do my first 5k in May.  I've been doing my running on my treadmill.  I would love to do it outdoors but by the time I get home it's dark and I'm afraid something might happen.

  • steff, no, i have never heard of dailymile (i think thats what you wrote!)  what is it??

i am still banished to running on a treadmill, it is still FREEZING cold here, and the roads are still kind of messy...its either snowing/sleeting/mucking up the roads, or melting (making the roads all mucked up again!) i agree with you though--running outside really makes a difference!

  • Chris signed up to do a 5K in 3 weeks and I swear the only place he walks is between bars.  hahaha

I told him this Sat I'd try to walk 5K with him through the park.  The back of my thighs are starting to look like they are melting.

If you don't hear from me all week next week, it's cause I'm dead.

You girls are so much more disciplined/in-shape than me.

So far, the only Groupons I've bought are for things I would have bought anyway, which really worked out for me.  Nordstrom Rack?  Yes, please.  Plus, my sister and I committed to my dad to get us all a (day) sailing trip (SF Bay) for his birthday, and then there was an awesome Groupon, so it'll only cost $200 for all of us (6).

My confession is that I'm going to a wedding in late May, and was looking online for dresses last night.  I didn't buy anything because I hope I'm pregnant by then, but then realized that even if I get PG right away, it likely won't affect my dress choice by then.  And then I felt dumb.  Stick out tongue

  • mushE - I would have thought the samething too

rant - my boss totally fudged up this morning, which made me look like the idiot to people at our other locations since i was claiming we didn't get X material when we really did when we were really missing Y material instead.  By the time I figured all this out I'd already done a crapton of paperwork to correct it all so I had to go back and fix it all over again.  So, ruined my mood.  UUUGGGHHHHHH!!!!

  • Shauni - Dailymile let's you track your runs, distance, create loops, records your pace, etc. It's pretty cool, and I like seeing my progress. It also is a good little motivator. Join and we can be friends :)

I confess I am super pissed I was reluctant to spend $55 on a dress I found on the Nordstrom Rack website for a wedding I'm attending next month because it's no longer available. Why? a) I'm a cheapo and have never purchased a thing from Nordstrom and b) I was on the fence about purple for springtime.. idiot!

I also confess AF came today and I'm sad. Not that we're trying or anything, but still. I have the baby bug so bad. So so bad.

can i use dailymile if i only run on a treadmill right now?  i cannot really change my route or anything...and i might be too embarrased to actually track my (lack of) progress.

as for nordstroms...i command you to go back and buy something!  anything!  it is my favorite store--i used to have a charge account there (which they no longer allow) but i had to cancel it bc i was broke...but it is my all time favorite store of life.  gerren knows that when i plan to go to a nordstroms that he has to leave me there for at LEAST 2.5 hours.  not.even.joking.

and lastly, my AF comes tomorrow and i am sad too.  not because i am not KU, but because i have weigh in on friday and i know it will make me heavier :(

  • even though we're not trying and i'm still on BCP i get a little sad every month that AF comes

  • Well we have been trying for 5 months now so imagen how sad i am when AF pays me a visit...Crying

  • This is a super lame confession: the other day I ate so much and was so bloated that my belly was ENORMOUS (moreso than usual when I eat a big meal) and I looked at least 6 months pregnant.  I was cradling my faux baby bump and got a little teary-eyed because I kept thinking, "I want this to be a real baby so bad!"

this happens to me all the time...like every night.  i stand in front of the mirror and pretend i am pregnant...not because i want a baby really badly, but because it would be easier to say im pregnant than explain why i just look pregnant (aka bc i am a larda$$)

Aw, that's sad, Laura.  I totally know the feeling.  I mean, of course, since we're now trying, but I know you're not yet.  I went through a period of really bad baby fever when we were engaged, and I definitely had that feeling.

Also, one more confession: H and I have a shared Google calendar, and I put "sexxxy time" on it for the 3-4 days around when I think I'll ovulate, just so he has a heads up.  He thinks it's hilarious, and I appreciate that he knows he should clear his calendar and be extra sweet.

  • I confess I get food babies all.the.time.  It's embarrassing to overreat that much.  The other night, I ate so much, named him Wilson, and cradled my belly in my arms the rest of the night.

I confess that I have NO PATIENCE.  With anything.  I can't stand the idiots I work with and don't want to take the time/effort to train..  I ate well and worked out for TWO DAYS STRAIGHT and can see no physical results (no duh).  And I want to get preggers NOW. I just can't wait...

MushE, LOVE the sexy time on the google calendar, ha! Yes

  • Oh, dude, you guys don't understand.  I have a food baby after pretty much every meal, and I can make myself look pregnant on command.  THIS food baby was EPIC.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!  i always get food babies and since HS i have named them Petree (from the land before time).  once in college i pretended i was actually pregs, walked into the bar rubbing my food baby, Petree, and asked "for two shots, one for me and one for the baby." TRUE.STORY.

  • TMI:  I named my food baby 'Jumby' after a terrible horror film we saw (The Unborn).  And I say, 'Jumby wants to be born now' (a line from the movie) when I need to go #2.

Also, I often consider poking my belly out to park in the 'expectant mother' parking spots at the mall.  Sometimes I think about pretending to be pregnant for a whole day (out shopping and such, not in front of people I know) just for fun.

    THAT just made my day.

    Super Angry

(j/k) - On the one hand, I think 'expectant mother' parking is so unnecessary.  But now that I'm walking around with this monster (and swollen ankles) I'm pretty grateful for it on the days when I just don't want to walk any further than necessary.  I duked it out with a woman (not pg) at the grocery store the other week over a parking spot - g/d it biatch, I'm a whale - have some sympathy!  (Not to mention her fat arse benefited from the farther parking spot)

  • This post absolutely took a turn for the awesome.

I also feel 928374x better about my confession knowing that I'm not alone.

And that I too get food babies.

  • It really pisses me off that DH whines about the cat box but won't bother cleaning it out - even though I'm not supposed right now.  But he doesn't clean up after the dog either.  WTF?

I really want to go home and tear apart our linen closet.  And paint the upstairs landing and the closet.  And replace the light fixture.  All before I go to bed tonight.

And an open letter - Dear people who work in the same wing as me - if one more f'n person runs into me, I really may have a snit.  Bad enough getting plowed over in the bathroom yesterday, then today I almost got clocked by a guy RUNNING to the printer.  My evasive maneuvers are not what they used to be and...it's not life or death people - slow down...please!

  • I cashed in on the fandango movie deal, I do not have real baby fever, I do get food babies, and speaking of babies I just bought a baby shower gift and a baby you were born! gift.

  • Haha, my roommate freshman year used to get the craziest food babies ever! She was tiny, like maybe 5'0" and 100lbs TOPs. After every meal, she looked legit pregnant. She was also hardcore Christian, so she'd get really embarrassed if I asked her questions about the "baby" when we were in public.

My hormonal system is all f'ed up. I am on BC and if I do not get my period by Friday (supposed to get it Monday), I will have skipped two months in a row. AND I didn't have my normal PMS-timing freakouts the past two months. So either a) my body is incredibly messed up right now or b) I'm knocked up. I'm on side "a" since H and I have been using condoms all the time anyway and I've been having other messed up hormone side effects like crazy acne break outs and weight gain in strange places.

If I am pregnant, one of you girls with babyrabies can have it.

I wonder if I have a pregnancy test. I should probably take one. Either way, looks like I'll need a dr's appt next week.
