I need job help again :(

Today, I was planning to stop by the agency I had sent my resume to (about 1 & 1/2 weeks ago).  I guess just to see how things were going and if they had any questions for me.  To educate myself more on the company, I visited their website again.  The positions they have listed for hire are Multimedia Programmer and Web Developer.  Neither of which do I want to/could I even get hired for.  Ugh.  When I talked with the guy over the phone, he told me they had multiple openings for people with different levels of experience.  He asked what sort of position I would want.  I told him I love design and text and that I can communicate very well with customers.  I have great organizational skills, too.  He said that I should send my resume in.  So, I did.  Now I'm thinking they don't have anything open for my skill set.  I don't know what to do.  I even got my portfolio together and put it in my car this morning :(  Should I still go over there?

*ETA: They do have positions there that I could do with my degree and experience.  They are just not listed as available.

  • Keep in mind that not all jobs that they are considering may be posted!  Continue to touch base and follow up with them.  If they say there are different level positions, take the chance, you have nothing to lose!

    Good luck!

  • I talked with DH about it last night. He thinks that I should go for it too. So, I will go today! If it's something I want- I should be willing to work for it. And you're right- there is no harm in trying. I am feeling good about it right now, but I know I will get nervous on my way there. Wish me luck!

  • After driving around and past the place- I finally found the agency.  The secretary lady very nicely went to check with Mary.  She was back there for a little while....  But when she came back she told me they are still reviewing resumes, but that it was at a bit of a standstill.  I'm not sure if I feel good about that or not.  She seemed very surprised to see me.  So, maybe I am one of the only people who have dropped by?  I don't know.  I am glad I went, but I don't feel much better yet.  Thanks for the encouragement, ladies.
