Need auto repair (brakes!) suggestions!
Hi Ladies!
I'm sure most of you have warranties with dealerships for work you have done on your vehicles but I do not... and my vehicle is older.
I'm needing my brakes done and before I drive to the nearest muffler & brake place I thought I'd ask if you have somewhere to recommend.
TIA
Re: Need auto repair (brakes!) suggestions!
I actually tend to do my own as long as it can wait until the weather is decent (since we don't have a garage to work in). If things come during the winter though, we go through an independent mechanic who guarantees his own work. I wouldn't ever go to a place like Meineke.
If we didn't already have one in Holland, I'd go here or to Angie's list:

Also, some insurance companies have preferred mechanics they like to work with on claims. You might be able to call customer service and ask if they have a list of trustworthy mechanics near you.
I will send her a FB message telling her to check. He has done by breaks before. I also have gone two other shops in the area and been happy with them. Spannstra's is on Fulton, just west of Diamond.
Tamminga is on Michigan Ave, by Wendys, next to the old Ace Harward (Riley). I took my car there after a mechanic quoted me several hundred for a repair. Tammingas told me that it wasn't needed.
Hi! My husband is an ASE Certifided Master Mechanic with Advance Certification. Basically he knows what he's doing. ;o) I'm sure he could help you. He does work some work on the side and with brakes he usually can come in at a really good price. If you want to email me with the year, make and model of your car I'll pass the info along. I'll also email you back his cell phone number (I don't want to post it here). My email is shanadykhuis@yahoo.com.
Thanks to the other girls for thinking of us!
