Hi Ladies,
I have not been on much, but my family could use your thoughts and prayers. My DH lost his job yesterday. He was a contractor and his contract was up. We realize we should have been paying attention to the date more, but he has been so busy with work, we did not feel concerned. I have taken a personal day to start helping DH go through the steps of rewriting his resume and looking into positions and just comforting him.
Thank you for listening!

I am a gluten-free, gun-toting wife! :P
I love you, Daddy...2/24/1953 to 2/13/2011
T&P's your way!!
I have a question...In Canada..we have Employment Insurance. It gets deducted from your pay, and when you're laid off/out of work (as long as you don't quit, for no good reason) you can apply and receive something around 55-65% of your income for a year.
Does the US have anything like this? My DH was laid off Jan. 23 and without his EI payments we would be F&^%ed!
Yes, it is called Unemployment Compensation. DH is on the phone as I write this trying to set it up.
Thanks, Ladies!
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
