  • Dude!  I know!  I'm all anxious and excited and in denial all at once.  Ha!

The doc still doesn't fully think I will go to term (meaning 40wks) but she joked at my visit the other day that watch, after all this nervousness and preparation I will end up going to 41wks.  ha.  So yeah, I'm about 2cm dilated right now.  Doc isn't worried - normal for a second pregnancy at this point.  Baby would most likely come home with us if he/she was born today so that's always nice to hear.  Based on baby's position right now, doc doesn't think he/she will come within the next two weeks - so that's good to hear as well.  I haven't been having any contractions like I was, so yay again.  But ya know with pregnancies - you don't REALLY ever know anyway - could happen tomorrow for all anyone under the sun knows anyway.  So yeah..

Are we ready?  No way in hell.  lol  Baby's room is a disaster - no furniture set up, closet still not built, I haven't packed any bags or washed any of Gabby's newborn clothing.  I bought all of two new onesies and a pack of diapers recently.  lol  I did order a co-sleeper at least so they baby will have somewhere to sleep.  ha.  Have yet to order the bouncy seat or pack n play (we borrowed those items from SIL last time but she still has an infant and is using them this time so we need to pony up and buy our own this time).  Seriously tho I have a stash of baby-related and post partum related crap I have been buying over the last month and it's all sitting in bags or boxes on the floor of the unfinished room.  The damn cat peed on our diaper bag and after washing it 5 times now it still smells of cat pee (effin cat) so I need a new bag, too.  OMG... tell me to shut up and go shopping, ya'll!!  lol

I am just hoping to keep this baby in until AFTER Mardi Gras (this Tuesday).  My hospital is smack in the middle of MAJOR parade routes... like literally a block from the route - I sooooo don't want to be trying to get down there in the midst of parade crowds and traffic.  Ack!!!  Throw some "stay inside baby" dust my way huh?  haha
  • WOAH! I just realized you were that far along on this post. Holy cow, I didn't realize it. I will send you major baby stay in dust until after Mardi Gras for sure. That traffic is awful and I can't imagine being in labor during it!

Yep, Genevieve is our girl name.  Our boy name has changed to Alexander.  Middle name will be James for either girl or boy (James because it's DH's name).
  • Definitely stay in there, baby, until after the party!
