Stressed...

Umm..6 weeks isn't much time!!!

I had a friend volunteer to help me pack tonight, but I'm seriously considering to tell her not to come over. We no longer have a dining room table so we have been eating at the desk or on the couch...and don't always get the dishes back to the kitchen. Embarrassed We have piles of laundry in the living room and bedroom as we are trying to weed out what needs to be sold/donated, what can be packed, what needs out. And the bathroom is a bit gross. So I don't want her to come over.

H is home today, but has already put in hours at the new job as well as working his regular shifts at his current job. I don't want to ask him to clean the house before his shift tonight. I'm cramming 48 hours into 4 days so I can have tomorrow off so I won't even get out of here until 5:30 tonight. My friend planned on coming over at 6.

Would you care if you walked into a mess like mine if you were volunteering your time to help? Should I just have her come sometime next week instead?

Re: Stressed...

  • NO!

You're in the middle of moving, it's not expected to be spotless! don't stress!

  • I know the way you feel.  Our house often gets in this situation and I think that a true friend can understand all that you have going on and can look past it.  But if it makes you feel a bit better, run though and grab some of the "worst" things and see if you can tidy them up a little bit before she gets there so you will feel a little bit better.  GL!  It will all come together!
  • I'd think there was something wrong with you if the place wasn't a mess.  :)

  • Thanks ladies. I really could use her help...

This. Heck, it sounded like you were describing my house and I'm not moving!
