They are often the cause of Mommy needing stress food or a cold one, but they may just drive me back to work sooner than I planned! C started walking around 9 mos so by now she is getting good at it. She started crawling at 7 1/2 mos and I had hoped that the mobility would keep her happy. G started walking at 9 mos too and I was hopeful that C would wait awhile. G was a big climber - still is. I truly thought that God would give me another one - wrong. C climbs up on the seat part of our kiddie picnic table and then proceeds to climb on top of it and stand. The bottom of our stairs are gated so she holds onto the gate and then climbs onto the step, eventually getting her feet on the bottom part of the gate. She climbs on the dishwasher door when it is open. Seriously, it is cute, but makes this poor mommy tired! G climbs on the outside of the steps (aided by a sofa table that gives him confidence). He also has gotten more aggravated by C so now pushes her more. Between her own stumble and her brother pushing her, she seems to always have some sort of bump or red mark. Last week, G had such a tantrum in music class that we had to leave. One of the moms today said she felt bad for me last week! I am very blessed, but sometimes these blessings drive me to need a beer or want a pan of brownies! Feel free to share how your babes (four or two legged) bless you...
Re: These kids....
Sounds like our house.
I've been letting the girls work out their "differences" and while it was kind of scary at first, they're actually doing much better now. I'm still not sure who is the alpha. They kind of take turns, but then Ana is much bigger than your C.
I have to say that at these ages, my kids are pretty easy. Yes, Ana climbs and jumps off of anything standing still but she's resilient. My stressor is when Ana is clingy and wants to be carried around all day. (like today when I had to be on the phone and focusing on quick turnaround times for my contracts with the fertility clinic and with the parents of this baby.) She is SO heavy and it's hard to do two things at once with 30lbs of love clinging to me or whining while I'm on the phone.
Are you totally looking forward to summer when we can just let them go outside and burn off all that energy!?!?! I am.
I have to say MrsBWilliams-Gabby is fearless! It makes me worry when you say G is just like her! :-)
G isn't walking but does get into everything. We are still working on teaching her what's off limits. (Why does she LOVE to chew on electrical cords?! Geez-it freaks the hell out of me) I'm so not ready for a walker!
Yes MrsReem - so ready to be able to get outside.
.BP - may your G not be fearless. The climbing I have grown accustomed to and gotten comfortable with because he is so good at it. Running away from me as we leave a store - not good at all.
To each of you - someone told me girls are calmer than boys...
