Instead Softcups

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the instead softcups?  Are they easy to insert and remove?  Can you have sex with them?  Do either you or your partner feel them?  I'm looking for an alternative to be able to have sex while on my period with my H.  Any experience would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

They were terrible and never "cupped" for me. I've heard great things about the Diva Cup, but I'm not sure if you can have sex with it in.

Just have shower sex or put a towel down. A little blood never hurt anyone.

They are horrible,disgusting and very messy ( think CSI scene). The do not work for crap if you have a heavy flow (started leaking in 2hrs. I can go 4 with a super plus tampon). You can not have sex with it in as it's a hard rim and your partner would feel it. Just have shower sex like pp said.

I think it depends on you.  I've used them on and off for years and found them to be effective and comfortable.  I would definitely steer toward the Diva Cup though which is much more reliable from what I hear.

I don't think it's a CSI scene lol - most women bleed, it is what it is.  If you'd have sex while you were bleeding, I think you can handle a menstrual cup.  Just my $.02.

LOVED them! Don't use anything else. Can be messy upon removal...but that takes practice. My flow is usually medium light to medium, though. Don't know about heavy flows. 

I started using them because they were handy during a 13 hour shift where I might not have time to pee or change a tampon/pad!I have used during sex. Worked well for me!

For light flow they were great for me, heavy flow = no go.  I didnt try having sex with them even though they say you can. The position of the hard rim just wouldn't be comfortable I dont think.

I used them once in a while before I discovered the diva cup.  Yes, you can have sex while using Instead, but I'd rather just put down a towel.  Instead is difficult to insert properly and isn't super-comfortable.

Me too.  I never really got into them because they were so expensive compared to a tampon, but they worked fine, even with my heavy flow.

I never tried having sex with one...we just put down a towel or do it in the shower.

I personally swear by them, and if they weren't so expensive they would be the only thing I use.  They are super easy to insert (I speak from a non-virgin status though) and to take out can be a little tricky if you're still quite tight but it just feels more like your body is trying to suction the thing back in.  Just be firm with it and you'll get it out in one smooth movement.  I did try to have sex with it once and unfortunately due to the fact that my inner wall is quite low my partner did feel it a bit.  There was no leakage or mess what so ever, he just found it slightly odd and we therefore stopped trying.  However, I highly recommend them A. because you can leave it in while you're sleeping rather than tampons which you can't and pads which cut off all air circulation which can lead to a yeast infection and B. because there's no evidence that it's there (no mice tails hanging or diaper feeling pads).  I once left one in for over 24 hours and not a spot of leaking.  Anyway, long story short, I highly suggest trying it, they're great.
