f/u toddler bed

For those of you guys that are following the saga: Yesterday, couch nap as she refused her bed. Last night, went down with a fight but slept alone until about 3 am when she woke up screaming bloody murder. DH went in there until around 445 and she didn't fall asleep. Into our bed, she went. She jumped around for 15 minutes until I had DH put her back to bed. She woke up at 830 am. Sigh. I miss my sleeping through the night girl. I miss my napping girl. Right now, we are sitting in the dark in the living room with the curtains drawn. I am trying to get her to nap.

Re: f/u toddler bed

  • Oh, wow. That sounds rough, but you'll make it through! Does her toddler bed have a rail on it? If not maybe that would help her to feel more secure? I'm just reaching here since I've never had a toddler.

  • Yikes.  For your sanity sake I hope she gets used to her toddler bed soon.
  • oh man this baby/kid not sleeping stuff needs to be over for all of us haha

I hope she gets accustomed to it quick

It does have rails and I know that helps but I guess not enough to make her feel "cocooned" in her bed.

  • hmmm...when I was little I was obsessed with stuffed animals and couldn't sleep without a group of them lining the wall and blocking the "crack" to the floor. Maybe that or rolled blankets - ? Do kids use body pillows??

  • Oh no, that sounds miserable! I hope all the lack of sleep gets to her soon and she goes back to napping!

If you are trying to make her feel more cocooned what about making a canopy out a twin bed sheet and hanging it? I've seen that on a few blogs.

She is just starting to learn to use a pillow and blanket. Babies aren't allowed those things for suffication purposes. We aren't quite there yet to let her have that much in there. She has 2 loveys, a gloworm, and a bear.
