Re: mamas i have a ?
we were supposed to go to arizona and california in 2 weeks because my cousin was getting married but we aren't doing that anymore. i wouldn't say i would be completely relaxed about flying with her this young but not because i couldn't handle it, but because i would hate to be that person who has the crying baby the whole flight if that were to happen
i would feel completely fine with driving anywhere with her though. i think i would mostly be concerned about all the crap that goes along with a baby. for such a small thing, they require so much.

This.
We drove a lot with Jordan and honestly, it was easier when he was a baby than when he was a toddler. He slept a lot and wherever we were, people wanted to hold him and help with everything. Honestly, sometimes I felt like I got to relax a bit more when we were with a ton of people. However, once he started running (he never really walked per say), things changed. It was difficult to keep him entertained during car rides and most people without toddlers don't have toddler proof houses, which makes visiting them exhausting.
Welcome to the dark side
we are driving to NY this up coming Thursday, and G will be 9 weeks. Its an almost 7 hour drive.
Then, provided I dont have to work, I will be flying to Vegas for my brother's elopement in May. G will be 4 months then.
Xander was 6.5 months old when we took a long driving trip. We were heading to OBX for vacation and hit traffic everywhere we drove. We split the drive up into two days on the way down. We stopped at Andrew's grandmother's house in DE and then woke up the next morning and drove on to OBX. It was miserable, Xander hated every minute of it. The poor kid didn't even want to get back in the car for a short car ride that week. The way home we drove in one day, and Xander decided to sleep most of the trip. One of us was in the back with him the entire time to try and entertain him.
I don't for see us taking a plane ride any time soon though, I just couldn't imagine having to pack everything up we would need.

We're planning a day trip down to my fathers grave while I'm on maternity leave probably after she's 6 weeks old, it's about 3 hours away. So she "meet" her Grandad.
The only other trip we have planned is going to Louisiana for Thanksgiving with Dh's Oma and Opa, and his paternal side of the family. We haven't decided if we're flying or driving, it'll depend on money, and which we feel would be better/easier with Felicity.
