I told DH a while ago that I wanted to go more green... especially with cleaning. Today we got some spray bottles and I made the vinegar, lemon, water mixture and started cleaning the bathroom. DH walked in and asked me what I was using because it stunk and I told him... he was shocked that it cleaned so well. Next we went after the kitchen and when I showed him the towel I used (I used white to make sure it was visible) he was really surprised at how clean and shiny everything was. He was also excited that he didn't have to use twenty different cleaners to do the kitchen.
WOO HOO a step in the right direction!
Our little hippo was as impatient as mom!
Hoping for a full 40 weeks!!
Re: may have converted DH!
sraight vinegar definitely works. I used half a spray bottle of water, half vinegar and the juice of a lemon.
Here is a good place to start!

Great job with the cleaning. I love using vinegar and MH still hates the smell when I clean, but likes it once it dries.

Today I am pregnant & I love my baby!
I recently started doing this too and I love it! Makes cleaning more fun
DH hates the smell of vinegar, so I started adding some essential oils to my mix of 50/50 vinegar/water and it totally takes the vinegar smell away! Plus I use essential oils that have antiseptic properties so I feel better about it being more "antibacterial".
For all-purpose cleaner, I use the 50/50 water/vinegar + 20-30 drops of 2-3 oils such as Lavendar, Sage, Thyme, Eucalyptus, etc...
I recently found this bathroom cleaner recipe and I really like it too:
Bathroom Cleaner Spray
This all purpose homemade bathroom cleaner spray makes it easy to wipe away dirt and grime while also killing germs and bacteria. Plus, it smells so refreshing!
Ingredients
* 1 teaspoon Borax
* 2 cups hot boiled Water
* 1/2 teaspoon liquid dishwashing soap
* 3 tablespoons white Vinegar
* 15 drops Lavender essential oil
* 10 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
* 5 drops Tea Tree essential oil
Directions
1. Pour the water into a large glass pitcher with a spout. Add the borax and stir until it's dissolved.
2. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then pour it into a spray bottle. Add the remaining ingredients and shake well to mix.
3. To use, spray onto bathroom surfaces, then wipe clean with a cloth or sponge.
