Hey ladies, need a rec! A friend of mine from the DM area is planning a NB. She's already half way into her pg and isn't happy with her current OB group. She really wants to deliver at Mercy, and knows there aren't any MWs there so I told her I'd ask here for recs on low-intervention options.
TIA
PS Hope you all are well! I miss having a good local board

Re: NB-friendly OB at Mercy?
I only know of a few OBs at Mercy, none of which were NB friendly. I hope the girls on the board know of some. MrsReem where did you deliver?
From my experience (personal and doula) I would HIGHLY suggest she go to Methodist or Lutheran if she wants a more NB friendly facility. Is there any chance she'd switch?

I go to Women's Health Services and they deliver at Mercy. (or lutheran if you want) I had two med free births (soon to be three!) where meds were never spoken of once I let them know I wanted to go med free. All of my OB's in that practice we on board with it. They never questioned me and it was never a problem.
As you well know, it's really the nurses at the hospital who are with you for all but catching the baby though. I never, ever had a problem with nurses suggesting I take meds, etc. They asked up front what kind of birth I planned on and meds were never spoken of again after that point. They were awesome! I know there are a lot of horror stories out there about hospitals and their nurses being evil, med pushing people. I really haven't experienced that type of nurse at all with Mercy. I have all positive things to say.
Oh my gosh! Congrats on #3. I need to get to lurking here every now and then so I can keep tabs on you ladies!
