What grade/subject do you teach? I'm a HS social studies teacher! Can you give me any insights as to what the job market for teachers is like in C-ville/county?

I teach 6th grade science and social studies.  Alb county is pretty competitive there are 3 high schools (two are double A and one is Triple A). I think the pay is pretty comparable to the city.  The city has one high school (I believe this is also a Triple A school).  They typically do a spring interview day at The Double Tree hotel. The job market right now is pretty tight. They recently switched the high schools (in the county) to a 4x4 which means teachers teach 6 classes over two semesters instead of 5 classes over the whole year.  The most recent layoffs last year were mostly high school teachers.  Feel free to email me (pinkandsilverbride at yahoo dot com).
