We have two and fostered a third for awhile. For us, two is easier than one. They entertain and exercise each other. Three was too much. Not so much in a day to day routine, but we love to take them on trips, hikes, etc and it's much easier to have one a piece. Also, as we start thinking about kids, we knew we couldn't give appropriate attention to all three.
So, maybe after your LO comes along you can get another puppy!!
I do have a weakness for them. I have to stay away from rescue groups, otherwise I would end up with an entire pack!
