I asked this a while back on another board, I think.. but now I'm getting desperate!
My uncle turns 60 this week and I have no idea what to get him. He is a professor and one of the most active people I know from traveling to being in physical shape. He runs several miles almost every morning, he bikes several miles to work, plays volleyball, etc. They travel all over the world and have been to so many places. Also my aunt and uncle have a tandem bike they go on trips with (hundreds of miles). He eats healthy and tries to be as eco-friendly as possible.
I still have no idea what to get him! Someone suggested a GC to a B&B, which is an awesome idea, but their travel plans are so diverse that I can't figure that out in advance.
Any suggestions? I want to get him something nice, my aunt and uncle have been like parents to me but I can never seem to find him an awesome gift!
Re: Gift idea for a 60th bday
How about some running equipment? Does he have a heart rate monitor? A pedometer? Maybe some nice under armour clothes to run in? We just got all this for M's dad for Christmas because he's a runner and he loved it!
bedandbreakfast.com sells gift certificates/gift cards and you can redeem them at over 4,000 different B&B all over...there are no fees, blackout dates, etc...
I never knew this, what a great gift idea.
Another thought, if he's an avid runner he may already have one (could you check with your aunt?) but a Garmin Forerunner GPS is by far my fave running toy. It tracks heart rate, etc.but my favorite part is the software that you use to download all your runs- especially if he travels and runs while on vacation, etc. it's fun to look back at all your routes, stats, etc. .
