Camping at Sonoma Coast State Beach?
I apologize for all the camping posts. Has anyone camped at Sonoma Coast State Beach? I know the sites are on a first come basis, but are the campsites really sandy and windy? We have a tent that *may* not work in sand and a lot of wind but I really want to camp close to the ocean this year and it looks like this may be our only option for Labor Day weekend.

It looks like this is a big area from Russian River to Bodega Bay. I haven't camped there but I have visited that area and camped near the beach on the Central Coast before. I wouldn't pitch your tent right on the sand but up on a little overlook area that has more grass. I'm sure there would be an area like that at SCSB.
