When did you start putting your LO to bed.

I guess what I'm asking is, when did you start going from dinner to bath to just bed, no bed time bottle.

I REALLY like this last *baby* ritual, and don't want to give it up, SO I need to stall H awhile longer. I think she'd be fine, because she'll go down at nap time w/o a bottle. But I'm not sure when to drop the last bottle. El is 11mths today! (SAD!) I want to keep her my baby as long as I can!

Re: When did you start putting your LO to bed.

  • We started the night bottle weaning process with Drake at 10.5 months - we are simply decreasing the amount of formula every 1/2 week until he's 1 (April 13th). With Gabby we stopped cold-turkey about a week after her birthday (allowing time for things to get back to "normal" after all of the birthday parties, presents...etc). She handled it very well - but she didn't love food like her brother - hence the weaning with him. If you want to hold onto the night time bottles and subsequent snuggles - I say go for it! There is no law saying you have to give it up at 1. :)

  • at 12 months we started trying to wean from the bottle...the first week after he turned one we got rid of the AM bottle then worked for the next week or two on getting rid of the night time bottle.  He doesn't even notice now!  Although he is waking up at 5am STARVING so that sucks.  :)

  • I still nurse Neena to bed every night. If you enjoy giving her a bottle, I say you continue to do so. :-)

  • 11.5 months.  I still rock her for a couple minutes before putting her to bed though.

I just gave Nicholas one until he didn't want it anymore. For him it happened to be around 11mos. I was a little sad at that age too.

I say let her tell you when she's done with it. :)

  • Thanks ladies! I think I'm going to keep it up until she doesn't want it anymore. Thankfully she does!!! Smile

I mean she has been not wanting them throughout the day. So maybe she likes the extra mommy snuggles too!
