something different for baby shower decorations??
All I have so far is to make a garland out of onesies for my mantle. I want to do stuff that is pretty but not cheesy. Any ideas? I really need the help it is this Saturday!
Re: something different for baby shower decorations??
Does the shower have a theme of any kind?
I like making diaper cakes for a centerpiece:
I also attend a very cute shower were they had bowls/vases where you would normally float candles or flowers, and instead they floated rubber duckies.
I would pick out a color palatte that includes white and one more color. And then go with one or severa different patterns for things like ribbon that you can tie around flower vases, bread basket, photo frame, wreath on front door, mantle. For example:
pink/white polka dot ribbon
blue/white gingham ribbon
green/white striped ribbon
I would find things around the house or dollar store that you can use and tie ribbons around it to "connect" everything. Vases with white flowers from the supermarket. Or maybe potted plants. These can serve double duty as prizes and decor. Votives with little white candles. Basket for bread or utensils. Big white platters for the food.
For the chabby chic feel:
White photo frames with photos of th mom to be as a baby.
White hat box were guest can drop in little note cards of advice for the mom.
Old birdcage
Big candle holders
Hope this helps!
These pom poms are super cute! And very easy to do. They look so pretty hung over the tables. http://cakeslikesaparty.wordpress.com/
This blog has some other great ideas and if you browse through it, you can see what the pom poms look like when hung overhead for a baby shower. I'm planning on making them for my DD's 1st bday party.
