You ladies were wonderful answering my concerns about Mercy Gilbert vs. Chandler so I'm going to press my luck and ask another question. /duck
Being from TN, there's no way in heck I'm going to go walking (or anything else)outside during the summer months for exercise and I do not have a pool. That being said, I need to be getting some exercise routines established so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good prenatal class or health club offering prenatal options near the Mesa / Tempe / Gilbert / Chandler areas. I'd prefer water aerobics but at this point I'm also up for yoga or just an indoor walking track. I can't go too expensive each month either since we're trying to save what we can for the months I won't be able to teach. As you can tell, I really don't get out much except to the various schools where I sub. Thanks!
Re: Question #2
That's a great question! I'm secretly freaking out about how I'm going to get in my nightly 2 mile walk when the triple digits start!
I'm on the west side, so I can't help you specifically, but I would suggest checking into the community colleges to see if they have gyms that you can join. I used to use the Scottsdale CC gym (I was not a student there) because they had an indoor track and the fees were nice and cheap. Maybe the others on that side have something similar?
I'm a member of LA Fitness
the fees are reasonable and the have water aerobics. i love that they have a pool for me to swim laps and i do weight training and cardio daily. I havn't checked to see if they offer prenatal classes but am almost certain they don't at the location i frequent.
I use Lifetime as one of my gym's and they have water aerobics and yoga classes, along with a ton of other classes. THe facilities are really nice and there are pools both inside and outside. There is a Lifetime in Gilbert and another in Tempe.
If you sign up at pure fitness then you can also work out at LA fitness (but you have to tell them you want that at your signup ) it's roughly $20 a month.
They have water aerobics classes at LA fitness plus you can walk on a TM as well.
GL!
