NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I have such a pet peeve about smashing of any kind of food in someone's face, ESPECIALLY to your dearly beloved at a wedding. Personally, I find it to be incredibly disrespectful whether it's all in "good fun" or not. Flame away if you want, but it's just NMS and every time I see a "smash" pic I cringe. <end rant>
But, C and I did have a good laugh as he teased me about it right before he politely fed me a piece with a fork

We had cupcakes, and didn't do any sort of cutting, feeding, etc.

I just realized I don't have any pics of him feeding me cake, though. Sadness
No smashing for us (my mom threatened Steve's life if he did! lol)

I would say we didn't really smash, just wiped a litle frostin gon his face.

And NO smashing for us either. They made me feed him first and the entire crowd was SCREAMING at me to smash it.. I didn't. Then it was Mike's turn and they were SCREAMING at him to do it lol... he didn't either.
No smashing. Like Brooke, I was raised that you just don't do that if you respect someone, and I respect Ron and he respects me, so it was a pretty simple decision.

No smashing for us either and we used forks...actually cake cutting is the one place I think my photog didn't do a great job capturing. We got pics, but none of us actually doing the cutting.

Well there was lot's of smashing at my wedding, and it was not planned. I got a little over zealous and started the smashing but he got me back 10 fold.
Cutting:
And the aftermath, cake in the eye and he had it on his shoe, I found in the next morning in the hotel room.

Our photographer sucked so she really didn't get many pictures of the cake cutting, but here's a couple from other guests. We totally smashed. He wasn't going to but said when I started to he went for it. We didn't get super messy or anything though, mainly because the little bits of cake we each took were tiny. These are some of my favorite pics from the reception just because Jason looks like he's having so much fun.

Here's our whipped cream and fresh berries yum yum goodness, including one gluten free cake made with almond flour. You can see the almond one sitting on the table and there with no whipped cream on the side of it (so it was identifiable). My aunt is gluten intolerant. We ended up cutting this cake for our cake cutting.

I told him before we even got to the wedding day that if he smashed, we'd have a funeral directly following...
I can't find the photos of us feeding each other, so I'll edit those in once I find them. However, since he didn't get to smash cake in my face, he did get to go after the garter any way he liked.

Getting fit for IVF!
I also thinking smashing cake is disrespectful. I told Brandon if he smashed it in my face the marriage would be over before it ever started. I was so worried about this I told him way to many times not to smash it. I also read an article about how disrespectful it was to him.
When it was happening everybody was screaming to smash it. When he didn't he got major kudos from all the ladies. "oh he is so sweet to you. he loves you so much." haha

When I pointed on my face where it was on his I ended up getting frosting on my face which he wiped off. This is my first collage. Hope it works.
