Hotels in the Plaza

I am going to KC with a friend and her sister in a couple of weeks.  We are going to stay in the Plaza.  While I am in KC regularly visiting the IL's, I don't know what hotels are decent anymore.  It obviously isn't a romantic weekend so we just need something clean, up to date, somewhat nice. From looking at the online reviews, the Sheraton Suites had a mix bag and you have to pay for parking.  Hampton Inn and Suites is what I am leaning towards, but also thinking about Embassy Suites.  It is nice to have a fridge and a bigger room with three people.  TIA

Re: Hotels in the Plaza

  • I think there's a Hyatt Regency near the Power & Light District. We haven't stayed at that specific location but we have been very happy with other Hyatt hotels in the past.

  • Check out the Q Hotel and Spa. It's right off the plaza and they have free parking. The hotel is nice and updated and the best part is the breakfast. They make belgian waffles and omelets at your request in the breakfast room.

I used to stay there for work when we'd have to go up to our Corporate office in KC so they still give me the corporate discount. So I'd try calling them and try to get the corporate/business rate.

  • As a Hilton employee, I'll vouch for either the Hampton or Embassy. Wink It looks like the suites at the Hampton have kitchenettes also. Add in the free hot breakfast, and I'm always sold. However, it doesn't look like they have 2 beds and a pull-out; if your friend and her sister are like my sister and me, we wouldn't mind sharing a bed though!
  • I asked a friend who lives in KC and she said : Sheraton (my parents stay at the Sheraton every time they are here). Marriot Residences Inn on Broadway. Marriott Courtyard. Or Holiday Inn the plaza, that is actually a 3+ block walk to the plaza where the others are on the plaza. Have Fun!
