planted peas today!

I love snap peas and am crossing my fingers growing them goes well.  We added 2 bags of new compost to the SFGs this year to fill them back up and refresh them a bit.  I planted 4 rows of peas with some little metal fencing to use as a trellis.  Hope they do well!  We'll see in about 60 days ;)

now to wait for the frost to pass so we can plant everything else!

Re: planted peas today!

  • Soo excited! I just replanted one of our 4x4 SFG today, too - while on modified bed rest.  SOOO Worth the hassle of building last year!  I planted 4 boxes of sugar snap peas.  Last year we built one of the trellises out of metal tubing and the trellis netting, so I plant the peas right along that.  I also planted 3 boxes of lettuce, 3 of spinach, 2 onions, 1 carrot, and left 3 more boxes open for broccoli or brussel sprouts (or both!).  I've got 3 more 4x4 boxes, and a 3x3 box (we never got around to filling this last one), for my stepdaughter (she's 6).  I'm sure we'll fill it this year so she can plant things.  Last year her flowers and pumpkin got swallowed by my tomatoes, corn, and cucumbers...
