Remaining wedding tasks?

Do you have anything "left" from your June 2009 wedding that you still need to take care of?

I'm trying to unsubscribe from all the stupid e-mail mailing lists I was put on courtesy of bridal fairs from 2008-2009.

I also still haven't figured out what to do with my dress. It's not preserved. I don't want to give it away, but there's no way I'm gonna be able to fit in it anytime soon for a TTD (and two years out that seems a bit...not normal...).

I haven't finished my scrapbook of our engagement or wedding (or honeymoon for that matter).

I don't know if this counts as a "task," but we still have a lot of unused wedding gifts. I know we'll use them *eventually* but it's just strange seeing them now.

Re: Remaining wedding tasks?

  • Ooh, I have some.

    - finish the wedding party scrapbook my BMs gave me at my b-party.

    - get my dress cleaned.

  • I still have some remaining name-changing to do, like on my old student loans. The statements are still being mailed to my parent's house. Embarrassed

  • I have not preserved my dress or finished my scrapbook. I don't know that I ever will preserve the dress. I'm not ready to part with it but I have no interest in passing it on.

  • I haven't printed my wedding/honeymoon album yet.

I haven't cleaned my dress. Actually, I haven't even looked at it since the wedding. It is somewhere at my moms house.

I still have a lot of random leftover crap from wedding planning. Thankfully I can probably dump a lot of this off on my sister, who is wedding planning now!

  • Hmmm, lots, apparently.

-Clean the dress/do something with it

    -Finish guest book scrapbook

-Change name on bar license and passport

-Select the pics for our album

    -Make the parents' albums

    Yeah, I'm a bad post-bride.

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • It is funny that we all have a lot of the same.

I haven't cleaned my dress either. I don't know where it is, and I really don't care. I guess I should have tried to sell it or something. But, I really just hate that thing.

I haven't finished my scrapbook for the wedding or honeymoon. Not only that, but I haven't even printed any pictures from either.

We haven't used a few of our gifts either.

I am sure there are a few other things I can't think of right now. . .

  • I still need to change my name on my passport and a couple credit cards. I also paid off my car loan which was still in my maiden name. I have to call the title bureau to figure out what I need to do to get my title since I'll go there with ID that has my married name.

I haven't finished any of my scrapbooks either (engagement, wedding, honeymoon).

  • I've got the same tasks as many others:

    -get my dress cleaned

    -make wedding and honeymoon albums

I also still have some lingering wedding crap to get rid of (does anyone need 50 unused bubble tubes?)

Oh, and we've used our china and crystal, but we've never gotten it all out of the store boxes and sorted it and put it in the padded boxes of china cabinets.  When we moved, it all went into the hallway closet and we just pull our pieces as needed.  I'm not even sure we ever received our full completion order (Indifferent).

  • PASSPORT! Thanks for reminding me...

And I'm glad I'm not alone Wink

  • - Change name on credit card and student loan.

    - Get rid of wedding stuff that I don't need anymore.

    - Print pictures and albums for house from wedding and TTD session.

    - Go on actual honeymoon.

  • My dress is the big one...I was holding out hope to do a TTD but at this point I think that is a lost cause, and like pp, would be a little strange after 2 years!

I also have a bunch of random wedding stuff (ribbon, picture frames, rectangle vases, etc) that I need to find a home for.

We gave both sets of parents frames as a thank you with the promise of a picture after the wedding...oops, still haven't given them that!!

  • I was pretty good with preserving my dress, but I have a TON of wedding stuff in the basement that needs to go. Sparklers, gold chargers, candles, etc. I could probably sell a lot of it if I had the time/energy.

  • I did preserve my wedding dress, but I still have TONS of things to get rid of. I tried to sell some of it on my local knot but didn't get rid of much. I might try to post more of it on craigslist this week now that I think of it!
  • I JUST got rid of the cake knife/server set (bought cheap, not engraved, didn't plan on keeping it anyway) and all our centerpiece vases & rocks. My nephew's SIL is getting married this summer and her colors are the same as ours were plus they are paying for most of the wedding themselves.

And I still have yet to take my dress to have it made into decorative throw pillows for our bed.
