Friday Confessions

I need something to bide my time and keep me occupied while I wait to hear about the job. Ready...set...GO!

Re: Friday Confessions

  • I may be getting a new car this weekend. On the way back from Columbus mine died on the side of the road. It made for a VERY long day and my BIL who is a mechanic looked at it. He said there is something MAJORLY wrong with it. The engine is puffing blue smoke and gas/oil/coolant are mixing and in baaad places. Its a 98 Stratus and I just would rather get something newer and make a payment than tow this, and it not even be fixable. AND My BIL doesnt have time to look at it until next weekend so if I get this job it would have to be done ASAP and then we'd have to pay someone else and it may not even be repairable.

    I need a car though.

  • I confess that I'm really looking forward to having the house to myself next week. My H is driving to FL Sunday night.  He needs some time away and he's also going to clean out his grandmother's house so we can get it ready to list & sell. She won't be returning to live independently... His trip is up in the air for the length but I'm psyched to know that I'll be alone next week! It's like a vacation for me too.

  • Faire it is ok with me too.  You can message me on facebook if needed.

I don't really have a confession....I'm pretty boring right now.

  • DH travels about 2 weeks out of every month. When he's gone I get Noah out of his crib and bring him in with me to sleep. For some reason it makes me feel safer (even though we have a top notch security system!) I LOVE all the snuggles and actually miss him when DH is home.

  • Fraire you have my number to text or FB me girl

Traycee I do that too haha

  • I have a crafting and DIY obsession.  I want to try new crafts/hobbies all.the.time. We had to move the dresser that is full of crafting supplies into the garage to make room for baby#2... it keeps filling up.  I spent about $25 this afternoon buying the items needed in order to make a St. Patrick's Day shirt for Gabby... I could have bought a friggin' shamrock shirt at WalMart for $5.  *hangs head in shame*

I told my mom this morning that they can come down early (as in before the baby arrives) and stay in our house.  They won't have a room anymore (as it's the baby's room now) but I told them they can sleep on an air mattress in the living room until I go into labor, then they will transfer to a hotel before I come home from the hospital.  They plan to leave Missouri to head down here Sunday.  I haven't told J.  Oops.

Over the course of the last week/two weeks we have forced one of our cats into being an outside cat.  I do not feel bad about this in the least.
  • Steph you're funny...and how much longer do you have if you go full term?  That could be a couple weeks right? haha

As far as your cat boy do I get it right now with Parle.  H keeps saying it's because of Ava but to be honest he had been acting up long before her.  He's a great loving dog truly is but if we leave him outside too long he'll dig and there are freaking holes all over now...because the yard is fenced in he barks at anything really nasty sounding but if I am walking him he'll be sweet to the same things he's mean to in the yard, he constantly is taking his blanket and towels I keep in his kennel and sloshing them in his water bowl (we can no longer leave his food out during the day because he'd get it everywhere) and I think he's peeing on the towels when he puts them in the water dish too personally.  My laundry room stinks no matter how much I wash his kennel, the blankets or him and I'm sick of it.

He sheds so much it's everywhere and my cut off point is on Ava's stuff!  Her room is the dog free zone but I always have to watch to make sure he's not going in there.

And recently his nice soft bed and blanky in our room isn't good enough..no he wants to root in our closet for a place to sleep or under our bed and I just don't trust him.

He's ruined our guest bedroom carpet with peeing (he's house broken) he does this just for sh*ts and gigles because we'll let him out and then he'll come in and do it.

I can't get rid of him because I don't know anyone who would take him (I've made him out to be a brat but he needs lots of land and folks to play with him) and I can't do it and H can only give so much as well.  Le sigh ok I feel better

This freaks me out! I hope Bretta doesn't act out too bad once the baby gets here. She already goes in the house if she's really mad at us (it's only happened twice- each time we've moved- but still) and I can not stand dog hair on my stuff, let alone the baby's. We bath her often and she has a good diet but she sheds a ton. I'll lose it if it's all over in the baby's room!

When I first read this I thought you meant 0 urge to "nest". As in get on here and talk to us. ha!

I have no real confession other than that work was slammed and there's a million things I could be doing, but I only have 10 minutes left and I just want to relax. So I'm on here. ...and I ate a donut today, but I'm sure that surprises no one.

Steph you're funny...and how much longer do you have if you go full term?  That could be a couple weeks right? haha

Yep.  lol  I'm 36.5 wks now... good lord what if I go to 40+ weeks?  Ack!  I don't care.  I physically am just spent and I feel so sorry for Gabby - my poor kid  is so obviously BORED with me.  As much as my mom drives me insane when she's here - I totally want her here right now.  I know she'll cook and clean and look after Gabby and play with her, etc etc.  I just want some pampering.  :-P  But at the same time, my parents were on the road driving down when Gabby was born - so they really really want to be here, in the hospital waiting, when this baby is born.  Might as well have them come down earlier so they don't miss it - it's a 15-17 hr drive... my labor last time only lasted about 9 hrs total.

Omg I HEAR you so bad on the dog.  The cat that's outside now is Kitty.  He's always been a bit weird and spooky.  Super friendly, but just really high maintenance.  We were keeping a baby gate up in the hall to prevent him from going into the bedrooms or bathrooms - if there is carpet or a rug down, or laundry, he WILL pee on it.  No idea why.  He pees in his litter box, but has this like compulsion to pee on anything soft on the floor.  W.T.F.  J and I have been dealing with this for YEARS and I am tired of it.  Plus it was just nice to have a cat hair-free zone in the back of the house.  Recently, he had started running out into the back yard when we opened the french doors (like if I just went to take the garbage out, or just walked out to go out back with Gabby, he would BOLT!).  After the 467th time he did this, I stopped worrying about him and would let him in at night.  Then one day J was cleaning out a closet in order to find the old diaper bag and come to find out, that bag was SOAKED in cat pee.  How gross!  I mean it was bad.  We tried washing the bag over and over, but I gave up eventually and said eff that - I'm getting a new bag.  We knew that the damn cat knows how to open the closet door, but seriously??  Why does he do this??  No vet has been able to answer this question for us.  But that was kind of the last straw.  We have only let him in once in the last few days because there was a frost warning... but yeah - he's totally not welcome back in the house.  He's neutered and chipped so I'm ok with him being out.  He hangs around, no problem.

And yeah - no one will take him from us BECAUSE of this peeing issue.  It's a shame really - because he's the sweetest cat, but I can understand why no one would want to bother.  I mean, we haven't even been able to put area rugs down because of him... J is all excited to go out and buy rugs now.  lol

I keep telling myself that one of these days I'm gonna get my self together and do it. hah.  It would be a huge ass hodge podge of just the most random items.  Because I like everything I end up making.  haha

Are you getting a baby gate?  You could always try that in order to keep Bretta out of the baby's room.  Like I said above, we had a baby gate up to prevent the cats from going back into our bedroom, the bathroom, and Gabby's room.  We have the kind you walk thru and it worked perfectly.  We were even leaving it propped open so that Gabby can walk thru as she pleases, but it kept the cats out.  Since Kitty is outside now, we took it down - our other cat, Lil Bit, doesn't meander (sp?) back there and if he does, he just sits outside our rooms.  ha.

You cat doesnt just jump over the baby gate? We have a baby gate up at the cat's room door to keep the dog out. Its up off the ground so she can crawl under it but most of the time she just hops over it. If she is feeling like a show off she jumps on it and sits while taunting the dog.

Oh yeah, we've had a baby gate since we got B.  I just never thought of using it to keep her out of the baby's room, good idea! We used to use it before she was potty trained to keep her in the kitchen during the day, it really worked to have her not go in the house.

I don't think it will be too much of a problem since she likes to be in whatever room the rest of us are in and I don't see us spending a ton of time in the baby's room (with the exception of night time when Bretta sleeps in her crate) so that should help.

Nope.  We did get the extra tall gate tho.  I think it's 42"?  Looks like this:

Lil Bit is too big (read: fat) to jump that high, and strangely enough, Kitty never tried.

cole - have you taken her to the vet to make sure she doesn't have a urinary tract infection? perhaps she needs meds to calm her down - maybe they can prescribe some antidepressants for her? otherwise i'd look into a behaviorist. they can come into your house (like victoria stillwell from it's me or the dog) and figure out what the issue is.

one of my cats has to live in our bedroom otherwise she'll pee on the couch. sometimes she'll pee on my bed although i think we've gotten that under control. i know how it is at the end of the day when i'm exhausted and just want to go to sleep and find i have to change the bedding (thank god we invested in waterproof mattress pads!) so i can only imagine how fun it is to find she's peed when you've worked and cared for an infant all day. good luck!
