Hope this doesn't offend anyone, I'm an?occasional?lurker here though and thought you all might be interested in this.

My aunt and her partner have 3 kids together (oldest is 7) and they often worry about how other kids will accept them as they get older, particularly in middle school. ?I'm a 7th grade teacher and I have to say I'm blown away by the 7th graders this year with SS parents. ?Almost 10% of our 7th grade class has SS parents (It's a private school) and the kids happen to be some of the most put together, mature, bright, inquisitive kids in the grade! ?Socially, the other kids could care less, even in the small town area that I live in. ?Just wanted to share b/c it made me so happy to see both parents at parent night this week even though I'm sure it worries them a little. ?Hope this calms someone's fears for what your kids will face in the future! ?Things truly are beginning to change, at least with the younger generations!?

Thanks for sharing!  Funny story - I was a pre-school teacher for a little bit, and had triplets in my class.  On the very first day they told me they had 'two mommies'.  So in my head I was thinking "cool, mom and step-mom must get along really well!"  lol!  My own head never even went to SS couple until 'two mommies' showed up at the end of the day.  Let's just say in that particular school SS couples were much rarer than where you are at.
