New Dog Wash

Please help me understand why people pay would pay to wash their own dog.  I can understand if you're paying someone to do the work for you, but otherwise, this is consumerism at its best.  For the $10 - $25 she charges, you can buy a bottle of shampoo and a little hose thing to attach to your faucet that will last multiple uses.  And are people so lazy that they can't grab a rag, wipe up the fur and rinse the tub/sink?  My dog sheds like crazy when I bathe her and it takes like 3 minutes to clean surrounding area, throw the towels into the washer and be done with it.  Driving to the dog wash and back home would take longer than that.  Craziness.

I don't necessarily agree with the lazy part, because taking a dog to a groomer or a dog wash seems like more work than bathing the dog at home. I just don't think it's that difficult of a chore that I'd be willing to pay someone to do it for me.

I wash our 75-lb dog in the guest bathroom tub. He doesn't get in easily (he HATES being wet so he doesn't enjoy the bath). I lift him into the tub, one end at a time. I wear shorts so I can stand in the tub with him during the bath and not get totally soaked. That way I can pull the shower curtain closed and he doesn't try to escape with the curtain closed. I guess he's too dumb to figure out that the curtain moves :-) Tub clean up is not that difficult. It's a bit of a pain, but it's really not too bad and it's much less time consuming than driving him somewhere to get a bath.

Non-compete contracts are super hard to hold to anyway. I think you can get out of them easily with an argument about needing to make a living.

The whole situation does seem really awful though. :(

We'll be sticking with Now Boarding, and I am thankful that once I get my dogs in the tub, they stay put for the bath.

That place looks awesome!  They have a POOL!  I just wish it was closer. :-(  PPP is so convenient for us but now I have any icky feeling about it.

Mrs Kizdoodle: Let me know if you want a recommendation for another doggy day care in SLP.  The one I use has a doggy daycare and also will come to your house to walk the dogs.  For doggy daycare they also offers free pickup and dropoff.  The prices really can't be beat (trust me, I did lots of research when we got our puppy!).  I'm not trying to convince you to leave PPP, but you said you had a bad feeling about PPP so I thought I'd offer my favorite doggy daycare!
