Annoyed.

So after I got off the phone with my mom who told us not to take the trip home last night, DH asks if I would like to go out to dinner for my birthday tonight and has me ask my friend to babysit. I was really excited because he has not said a word about celebrating my birthday whatsoever (which is on Thursday).

Less than 20 minutes later, he is like, "I'm going to see if Grant wants to do something, just to get away." (Grant's mom is the one who died.) He calls his friend Paul and Paul tells him he was going to try and do something tonight. I said, okay, do you want me to call Rebeka and tell her we aren't coming?

He will not commit to anything. He keeps saying, "Well, I'd like to go to Ames but I don't know if I'm getting together with the guys or if Sam [his brother who is on spring break] wants to come over." I have no issues if he wants to hang out with his friend and comfort him or see his brother, but why have me get a sitter if you're going to turn around and make other plans? It is so rude to my friend to leave her hanging and I can't help but feel bitter that he doesn't give a sh!t about my birthday.

Now he's been over at Grant's house for 2 1/2 hours even though he said he'd be over there for an hour. He got mad when I told him he needed to tell me what he was going to be doing because I am going to make other plans if he is going to be gone all day.

Sorry this is long...it could be longer because I am mad about a lot of things right now but I will leave it at that.

I've been there, and it makes me so mad. DH does that to me all the time, and I can't even imagine how mad I would be if we had a kid thrown into the mix. I want to tell you to kick him in the junk, but I know that wouldn't be productive.

Retail therapy...I just bought myself a pair of rain boots on Amazon. Happy birthday to me. I told him the other day this would be a good gift idea for someone and he said anyone who was going to get me a gift had probably already done so. What they got me, I don't know, because regardless of how many times I gave him ideas, every time he was asked what I wanted he said "I don't know."
