I am in full on nesting mode.

When I was younger, my mother would get this way in the spring as well and it would DRIVE ME CRAZY mostly because I was expected to help her by supplying manual labor to whatever projects she decided to start.

Like mother, like daughter.

We agreed to spruce up the north side of our house and although I *know* we should wait given we are about to gut our bathroom, I plan to roll full speed ahead tomorrow.  We are having a dinner party tonight and I even plan to NOT drink so tomorrow I will feel good enough to get outside, move rocks, and plan some bushes. I also plan to buy some pansies (thunder colored, of course!) to plant around the outside (miraculously, my pansies from the fall are STILL ALIVE and growing about an inch a day - their blooms are huge and gorgeous).

Anyone else get like this during the spring?

Re: I am in full on nesting mode.

  • Me. Monday is my planting day, though. It's like the nice weather just inspires me to get my ass off the couch.
  • I planted various salad greens and herbs in some pots this morning. My pansies are also growing like crazy. It makes me happy to see the color.

I actually vacuumed the baseboards today. The fresh air inspired me.

  • I love spring time for this reason--it puts me in the mood to clean and organize. We're not doing anything for spring break this year so I plan to organize our guest room, clean out our other guest room, and do some deep cleaning around the house next week. And I'm a little excited about it Embarrassed
  • I've been ready to plant since the nice weather a few weekends ago, but I've managed to restrain myself. Tomorrow I'm planning to spruce up the front flowerbeds a bit and decide what to put in this year between the perennials.

  • Oh yes. In fact, one of our favorite activities is to wander around plant nurseries and drool.

ETA: I just cracked myself up with my own post! I sound like we're zombies or something. Ha!

  • I wandered around some nurseries yesterday and did a bit of drooling myself!  I really want to start attacking the yard and do some planting but I keep telling myself to wait a little while longer.  I just wish I could get as motivated about the inside of the house.  Yuck.
  • I love wandering around nurseries!  We're going to do some sprucing up too...I am so so so excited.  New mulch, lots of new flowers for color, and potted plant arrangements...maybe some new trees if our tax return says we don't owe a huge amount of $$!

  • I'm not a huge fan of walking around nurseries and planting flowers, mostly because I feel like I don't know what I'm doing haha. But I was super excited to see our flowering almond bushes starting to bloom this year! We planted them last year and since I'm not good at remembering to water, I thought they were goners. But they're alive! And pink! And they're sooo pretty!
