How did you meet your DF/DH? How did he propose (or how did you propose?)
Hey everyone,
Just curious about how everyone met their husbands/fiances and proposal story! I love a good proposal story! Looking forward to reading some good stories! Ill start with mine!
I met my fiance when he was doing a PhD program at KU (he is from Oklahoma.) We were both kind of unlucky in love, so we met on an online dating site and just started chatting! He was in Oklahoma for Christmas when we first chatted, and we quickly fell for eachother and decided to meet when he came home from break. Since he didn't own a car at the time, I drove up to Lawrence to his apartment, and from there we went out to dinner and then came back to his apartment and watched a movie/talked, but mostly just talked. :-) By the end of the night, we were an official couple!
The way he proposed was kind of silly. I guess you could say it was spontaneous, though he says that he had been thinking about it for awhile. In fact, he says that he knew that he wanted to marry me right after the first date! 
I have to say I pretty much felt the same way. So, back to the story. We were at his apartment having dinner (he cooked for me! kind of haha) and he had being silly so he knelt down and "proposed" that we watched movies. My heart skipped a beat because I thought he was actually going to propose! Anyway he went in his room to watch movies, and he asked me if I thought that we was actually going to propose and I admitted I did. I was a little bit disappointed. Then he asked me what I would have said if he had asked, and I said of course I would have said yes.
We were watching the movie "Just like heaven," with Reece Witherspoon (good movie, I reccomend it if you havent seen it. very cute love story with a twist) About halfway through the movie, he paused it and said he was going to get something from the living room. He was out there for about 5 minutes, and I was wondering what he was doing when he came back with some headphones. I was wondering what he was doing with the headphones when he knelt down and asked me to marry him! The headphones were supposed to be a makeshift ring- he didnt have one yet because he couldt afford one. He tied the headphones around my finger like a ring. The first thing I said was, "Are you serious?" I repeated that about 10 times, and then when he assured me that he was serious, I started crying and said yes! We never did finish that movie because we were way too excited and emotional, but to this day we have that movie (and the headphones.)
There's alot more to the story, but I don't want to make it too long!
Maybe after a couple people tell their stories I will finish mine! Looking forward to reading some good love stories!

Cute story. DH proposed to me during our senior year of undergrad. I was stuck in the school library working on a paper and he called to see if I wanted to grab some dinner. I said sure, but let's just go someplace like Subway so I don't have to bother changing out of my sweats (lazy!). He insisted he wanted to go to a nice dinner so I gave in and started getting ready. He picked me up and started taking me in the opposite direction of the restaurants we usually go to. I kept asking him where we were going and he wouldn't tell me, so I kind of figured it out (we had went ring shopping a few months prior so I knew it was coming). Eventually, we stopped at a park in one of my favorite neighborhoods (that I know we'll never be able to afford to live in!) and sat down on a bench. We talked for awhile then he got down on one knee and popped the question, then we went out to a nice dinner, so good thing I had bothered to get out of my sweats. It was a good proposal, nothing over the top which is more our style.
