St. Paul's St. Patrick's Day Parade
DH and I are thinking about going. Has anyone been before? Any tips on where to watch along the route? Anything else I should be aware of?
Re: St. Paul's St. Patrick's Day Parade
we go almost every year. There really isn't a good or bad place to be on the route. But get there early. It's a lot busier than you would think it will be.
We like to be towards the end because we like to walk to Rice Park after.
We'll be in it! DH and I are a part of the association that puts on the parade every year. DH will be the crazy one toward the front of the parade with the kilt on yelling real loud. Probably next to the very obnoxious guy with the very crazy costume.
Like pp said, get there early. It gets very packed.
We also go every year (it's also my birthday on the 17th, so I happen to make a big deal of it). Very packed, but we still bring the dog because it wears him out. I also like taking the walk afterwards and avoiding immediate traffic.
See you in your green!
Not a dumb question at all. This comes from Wiki :
"Though the origins of the Irish kilt continue to be a subject of debate, current evidence suggests that kilts originated in the Scottish Highlands and Isles and were adopted by Irish nationalists at the turn of the 20th century as a symbol of Celtic identity."
As I am not the Irish one, I just follow along. I think the Irish just like to follow all the cool kids!
