UNH Question :)

I actually live in Boston, moved from FL about 10 months ago, but am considering applying to UNH's Master in Occupational Therapy program in about a year or so.  In order to make it worth it (my husband is in PT school at a private school = ridiculous loan debt), we would have to move to NH (pretty dang soon) so that I would be a NH resident before applying.  I don't know too much about UNH, but it is ranked pretty high for OT.  Does/did anyone here go there?  Is it worth moving and making our commute ridiculous to Boston just to be able to get my MOT?

 TIA!

Re: UNH Question :)

  • I went there and loved it. Loved the NH seacoast too, great place to live!! Their OT program is great so I'd say go for it! If you find somewhere to live not far from 95 I don't think the commute would be that bad...

  • I'm a native and while I didn't go to UNH it's still a beautiful campus. The Northeaster train has a stop for UNH and goes right to Boston (South Station I think?) which you can probably get a commuter/student pass and UNH also has a bus system that you can take to connect to the C&J Bus company that can also take you into Boston (also South Station). If you drive, Boston is less than a hour away. Plus its tax free  Wink HTH, GL!
  • I am not an OT but know people who went through the program and it's fantastic. I did undergrad at UNH and it was great. The area is beautiful so that doesn't hurt either. You could move to southern NH just to get the tuition and the commute wouldn't be aweful.

  • I didn't go to UNH but have many friends that did....all loved it. (As did I, for visits!)

Have you considered living in southern NH so your work commutes aren't bad? Salem, NH is right on the MA border and only 35 min north of Boston - right off 93. Then it'd be close to an hour to get to UNH for your classes.
