Re: Good Morning, Tuesday!

  • good (?) morning.  so tired.  blerg. no exciting plans today--one of my last 5K runs before the actual event.  and thats about it.  busy at work, sun is shining, nothing exciting.

    happy birthday, stephanie!

  • Happy Tuesday all!

Today is my Monday, since I took yesterday off.  Time change hitting me now.  Yuck!  Came back to a pile of shiit on my desk, some things will never change, no matter what department you're in, I guess.

Yesterday was wonderful.  Took the dog for a 2.5 mile walk (ended up carrying her home, since I'm a bad dog mommy), did 4 loads of laundry, shopped at Costco, prepared food for the week and made a big pot of low carb chili.  So yummy!

Shauni-the sun is not up here yet, still pitch black, but I hear it'll be in the mid-60s.  Oh happy day!

Stephm-happy birthday!!!  hope you have a great day :)

  • Its only Tuesday...Indifferent

Last night was good, we had some yummy chicken I'd done in the crockpot.  I picked up the house some but mostly just lounged since Don fell asleep on the couch at 7 for the 2nd night in a row.  Since he was sleeping I watched 2 episodes of RHOC and Sister Wives.  Nothing special planned for today or tonight...don't have a clue what I'm making for dinner.  Guess I should get on that.

  • So far, my Tuesday sucks.

I was going to take the day off, due to my soccer game at 11:30PM last night. (It's a work sponsored team. It helps that one of my work supervisors is the captain). Well, H plays on the soccer team, too. So of course, H gets hurt. He did something to his hip. He's a really quiet guy, so it's very hard to gauge how much pain he's in. He's also REALLY stubborn. But I got him to take a bunch of IB profin (or however it's spelled) and he called out of work at 2AM last night, so I imagine he's actually in a lot of pain. He won't get out of the bed, but I'm not sure if it's because he's exhausted or because he can't move his hip. So I'm currently researching orthopedic/sports medicine doctors. After I post this, I'm going to make him get up and shower and see how it goes.

Also, I got a TON of work in this morning. So I'm basically working from home, even though I'm supposed to have the day off. And I have an appointment to take Petey to the vet at 11AM. Today is going to be not fun. At all.

Hope everyone else is having a better day!

(When did I become such a debbie downer? [no offense, debdeb Stick out tongue])

    And happy birthday stephanie!

(An unmatched left parenthesis creates an unresolved tension that will stay with you all day.

  • happy b-day stephanie!

I'm dragging butt this morning!  My coffee needs to kick in asap.  We have a mandatory furlough day on friday, so i keep telling myself I just need to make it through thursday.  However, it's still hard! :-)

As most of you are probably aware J and I have been TTC and I was feeling really good about this month.  Then I started spotting last night (Sorry if TMI) and I was majorly bummed out (but it seemed to stop).  BUT I'm not due for Aunt Flow till Sunday, so I'm hoping it's implamantation bleeding and that I still have a chance!

Sorry for my baby making drama/info.

    Happy Tuesday all!

  • Morning!

Today shouldn't be bad. I'm working half a day because MIL comes in. YAY for half day! I'm sure we will go out to lunch then maybe a trip to our shiit casino. I really hate it! I guess it's because we were very spoiled with Mohegan and Foxwoods in CT.

I thought I almost had to go to the ER last night. I was doing dishes and went to put a pint glass on the drying rack and it slipped and sliced my middle and ring finger. My middle was in really bad, its sliced right where you bend it. I'm fine now. Cleaning was kinda hard one hand so I told Greg he could do the floors and the tub.

Tomorrow I am taking off. Not sure what we are doing? Maybe Orlando or Sarasota? Who knows

  • Happy Birthday Steph!

I'm here. That's about it. I woke up thinking today was Thursday...that was a slap in the face. I'm debating on whether to take the, now, optional furlough day Friday. I may just do a have day to get all my paperwork finished and all it a day.

  • Tuesday 2'sday....so far so good. I got to sleep in with Liv til 9 Woooo HOO! That's unheard of at my house. We snuggled and now we are having silent alone time-- her with her daddy's DS and me here with you guys....probly for another 10 minutes. It's pretty nice out today and I was thinking about going for a walk with her today after nap time :o)

On the flip side-am thinking of giving up my hair for Lent-- have been trying to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths ....I'm taking 10 inches off soon. Hooray for donating hair to young girls who don't have it.

    Happy birthday Stephanie!

My morning is off to an okay start.  Yesterday was a productive day, and I did a double workout.  This morning I'm having an awesome face day (for the first time in years, it seems like) but a bad hair day from sleeping on wet hair.  However, taking a shower last night meant I got to sleep in a little!  I'm feeling sort of crummy though, I'm having some tummy issues and I'm so bloated that my jeans barely fit.  Hopefully that goes away soon!

  • Happy birthday to your hubby! Today is my birthday. I love my birthday and celebrate it all month.

I did not take off and should have. Next year, please remind me to take off for my birthday, and tell me that whenever I am not off for my birthday I am full of regretskies that morning when I wake up.

I forgot my must have notebook today and dumped my purse off of a chair, losing one of my earrings. Balls balls balls. MFD found it though so it's all good.

I can hardly bear watching coverage of the utter devastation in Japan. My heart goes out to them all.

I had a donut for breakfast and am eating what I damn please all the live long day. I also need to decide if I want to do the treadmill (finished book this morning, will require purchasing reading material) or take a class. I never take classes on Tuesdays so I don't know what's available at the gym.

Last night me and one of my bffs and MFD headed to my mom's and we had a lovely app dinner. We got home around 9:30 and I went directly to bed and read. I was so sleepy!

Can't wait for birthday dinner tonight at Popi's in South Philly!

Trying to schedule massages and mani pedis for Saturday for me and two of my friends and they are not calling me back.

  • I'm jealous of those of you who only have to take 1 day of furlough...we have to take a week at a time!  We did it twice last year and we'll have to do it at least twice this year too.

  • Thanks all for the bday wishes!

Ferdy - awesome awesome awesome on the hair donation. Fabulous.

QoA - I hope your hubby is ok!

xtine - super jealous of your days off!

moleson - sorry about the spotting.

Everyone else yay for your yays and boo for your boos.

We only have to take 1 day at a time, but total we had 3 mandatory, and 3 floating that we have to use between Jan-June.  So basically, I don't get a full months pay till July.  :-(  Our engineers have to take it all at once, so they are off for a full week and a day.

  • I think the furlough in MD is more like what JenO described.  The faculty here have required furlough days but usually don't really get to take it off because they have to be productive in order to have functioning labs, so they basically work and don't get paid.

I'm so telling K this when I get home tonight.  We have dish wars and sometimes let them sit until we have none left because we BOTH hate doing them so much.  Saddest part?  We have a dishwasher (It's shiitty and leaves crud on the dishes, even when they're 'clean'.  I'm demanding a new dishwasher when we fix up the kitchen).  We are lame.

Not including today, I have 13 days of work left.  I knocked out a huge project that was hanging over my head this morning, so I'm much more relaxed now about getting everything else done in the next 2 1/2 weeks.  Then I'm off till somewhere around July 1.  Will be glad to enjoy the first part of the summer @ home.

Did grocery shopping last night and dropped off books at the library.  Cooked dinner & cleaned up the dishes.  Then passed out on the couch w/ Fat Boy, who seems to be feeling much better, but keeps peeing in the bathtub.  Hoping to take advantage of the extra sunlight and go for a walk this evening.

    Happy Birthday Steph!!

I have a total of 8 furlough days this year plus all the half days and whatnot throughout the year. They're talking about 10 furlough days next year so I feel your pain. I hardly ever have a full paycheck.

It's easier to handle missing a day of pay then a full week all at one time...especially when you live paycheck to paycheck.  I feel for your engineers since I'm in the same boat.

We were scheduled for 3 weeks of furlough last year, but they cancelled the last one...thank goodness.  This year they have it set up for another 3 weeks, but I'm thinking it'll be just 2 weeks like last year.  I'd much rather be able to take a day each month than all of it at one time.

Do you get to claim unemployement for that week?  I know it was a mess here when they were all planning for it.  Taking it as a week, was something their union worked out, BUT they get to claim unemployement.

I'd agree that it's easier to do it one day at a time (pay check wise) unless you get to claim unemployement while you're off for a week.

In general, furloughs suck! Stick out tongue

Moleson, don't count yourself out!  I've read that spotting is very common in early pregnancy.  I wouldn't read too much into it.

I agree, 1 day here and there is a lot better than a week at at time. At my old job, we had to take a month off (yep...that sucked!) but we were also able to claim unemployment so check into it. And hopefully it'll only be two weeks instead of three weeks for you again either.

    StephM, happy birthday!

I'm sitting here at home, working, and hoping my boss is cool with it.  Have to wait until she gets in (I'm on Pacific time) to check.  I've got a huge project to finish by COB tomorrow, before I leave on vacation.

And I'm so excited and so ready to be on vacation!  I just got confirmation emails from the two champagne houses I want to visit when we take our day trip from Paris, Veuve Clicquot and Moet and Chandon.  We were going to do a bus tour, but it only went to Moet, and we can get the train on our own, which would be cheaper and faster.  I'm so excited!

  • Morning all!  Happy B-Day Steph!

Didn't get much done yesterday, was feeling lazy.  I was so close to calling in sick today.  I swear I take 2 days off work and the place goes to sh!t.  Not my problem, I told my co-worker to do my job before I left and let me know if he came across any problems, which he didn't.  Now I face the task of fixing all the crap he screwed up.

QOA- no offense taken Big Smile.

  • Happy Birthday Steph!! I also celebrate my entire birthday month. My roomate keeps telling me your birthday month is coming up!!! (April) LOL

Moleson- I have also heard spotting is common in very early pregnancy. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! On the other side of that I am on AF right now and this will make the 6th month since me and H have been TTC and AF keeps coming. BOOOO!

I have never even heard of furlough before you girls, so i'm guessing we don't have it here or my company doesn't do anything like that. H has 2 floater days (unpaid days) he can take if he wants or he can just let them go. They go away at the end of the year. Most of the time he rolls them on to the end of one of our vacations.

Today I have no exciting plans. I really need to clean the kitchen, I made pasta last night and didn't clean any of my mess up. I have to go to the grocery store and get some ground meat to make burgers tonight. H has been working the day shift lately (since the day shift person is on vacation right now) so he's been home for dinner, so I can't have my normal one person snack meals for dinner. haha

  • Debbie - I know what you mean, i go through the samething when I take any time off.  They think they're doing things right and have it all under control...then you come back thinking it might be ok, but nope, you still gotta go back and fix all their mistakes!

Moleson - I'll have to check into filing unemployment

Emilyann - I cannot imagine taking a whole month off at one time...I'd go kicking and screaming, that's just plain crazy to make someone do that!
