Vent!

Arrghhh!! I got a call from daycare that Amelia is sick. I thought since we made it past last night that we would be in the clear. Allison last got sick on Sat night. I figured if Mia was going to get it, it would be by now.

Brian had to pick them up from daycare and is being difficult about it because he has to get some report turned in by today. He can't work from home because he doesn't have access to his computer, which I'm pretty sure is his own damn fault for not contacting IT about getting access codes. I already was off three days last week and I carpooled today. It's not like I can just walk out right now.  He is going to see if his mom can come over for a bit but can't get a hold of her.

I wish my parents lived closer by. Crying

Working mommy guilt sucks!

This is actually pretty high on our list of reasons we don't have kids.  No nearby family to serve as a support network.

Anyway, I'm really sorry that you're dealing with this.  I know I can't imagine what it must be like, but it sounds really frustrating!  I hope you guys get things figured out soon as far as childcare for the day goes and also that Amelia gets better very soon!

Don't let this be one of the reasons that deter you. It is much tougher, but the good days, where everything runs smoothly, far outweighs the tough days. And who knows, maybe this would get your mom and dad to move down here. Big Smile

More likely it would result in my inlaws moving here.  Indifferent

Seriously, I didn't mean to make this about me though.  I hope you and Brian are able to get things situated with Mia soon!

No worries - in fact I just came back on to tell you that if you have kids, Brian and I will watch said child(ren) on a quartely basis you guys can have a date night. Big Smile

Do you have to tell you IL that you had kids? Can you just have you parents watch them when you go back to visit. I'm sure word wouldn't get back to them. ha ha.

HA!!!  This cracked me up.  Excellent idea.  I can picture how that would work now, and it's hilarious.  Big Smile

Thanks for the childcare offer.  I will keep that in mind.  Smile

  • Brian got a hold of his mom, so she is headed over there. Hopefully between her and his sister, they can tag team and cover today. Brian's mom doesn't like to be gone for more than 2-3 hours because his dad's parkinsons is getting worse.

I'm trying to be understanding with Brian because he works more in a corporate office than I do. And he isn't used to having set PTO and having policies like that. At his old office, it would't have been a big deal, he would have just left. Plus, even though it has been a year, he is in the "trying to make a good impression." stage.  And, also based on the history of his new firm letting people go, I know all that stresses him out. He thinks he can't take time off. Well he is going to have to learn that he can and will have to at times.

I hear you loud and clear!  Sorry for the bad day :-(

  • Aw mannnnn on all fronts.  I hope she's feeling better now.

Phew, I'm glad we didn't see you guys yesterday, though ;).

Kasa, I'd watch any children you may produce as well.
