Hi ladies,
We're collecting input from experienced former brides for our Virginia Knotties who are just starting to plan their big day. Do you have any words of wisdom to share?
We'd love to share your advice!
Thanks for your time!
Carrie
Re: Your Advice Needed
Hey Carrie,
Congrats!! The only thing I would advise you from my own experience is have a rain plan, and if it does rain, CALM DOWN!! I ended up having mine indoors and was upset because if I had calmed down and just been patient, I could have insisted the planners to wait 10 mintues and would have had it outdoors (stopped raining).
BUT that being said, I still enjoyed the day. And definitely enjoy it. All that planning comes down to a 24-48 hour day (if you have a rehearsal dinner!) that flies!! Make it about you AND everyone else you love. It gave me an excuse to call my out-of-town bridesmaids more, but I always made sure to talk to them about their lives. On the day of, even though there was so much commotion, I tried to spend as much time as I could with my friends that I had not seen in a long time!
Really just have fun and you will!! Congrats again!
Enjoy this special time in your life. You are engaged for such a short part of your relationship and it's such an incredible fun filled journey it's easy to get lost in it all. Networking could help you to cut down on costs if you find people who are just getting started in the business.
Something will probably not go quite the way you want it to but just let things roll. There's no sense in letting the details get you down on your wedding day. Just remember, in the end you'll be married and isn't that really the ultimate goal?
