We've never owned a printer so we really don't know what to look for. We just want something basic that will print word docs and stuff off the internet. Any recs?
Re: Recommend Your Printer
I do not recommend a Lexmark. I have that now and HATE it. However, prior to this one I had an HP and LOVED it. HP all the way for me!
...hey, want my Lexmark??
Just kidding!
Haha...DH is so desperate for a printer he'd probably take it.
If you're looking for something fairly basic, I had this at work for years and really loved it. We own the same one at home now, too. This is the newer model of what I had/have but its a great printer. Prints great pictures, too, and you can hook the memory card right into the front of it to print from that. GL!
It all depends on what you want.
At Christmas, we received this printer as a gift. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=lexmark+pinnacle&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&rlz=1I7GGLL_en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=6237047807957754784&sa=X&ei=DAeETaOEIsOC0QGcyMndCA&ved=0CDAQ8wIwAg#
It's fabulous- it's wireless so all 3 of our computers (2 desktops and a laptop) print to it. It faxes. It copies. It scans. Best of all? The ink is cheap. $5/cartridge cheap for 500 pages. Yes it costs more, but when you start adding up the cost of the ink cartridges ($50 ish when you factor in black and color), this one is way more economical and all of our computers can use it.
Since then, I've posted our 2 older printers to CL... HP Photosmart and a Lexmark all in one. Both are good printers and do the job, but the ink is more expensive. ($25+/cartridge).
