Sesame Street Birthday Ideas

I am looking for some additional ideas for my son's 2nd Birthday party with the theme Sesame Street.

It will be hosted in our backyard and I am thinking about getting a small bounce house but not sure yet.  Decorations will be neutral colors and his sesame street toys, placed in different areas.

Games - Pin the cookie on cookie monster, toss the trash into Oscar's can - not sure what else, there will be a mix of ages.

Food - Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chips and Dips, Bird Seed (thinking nuts or chex mix) to represent Big Bird, Goldfish in a Fish Bowl to represent Dorothy,  Cookie area for cookie monster, cupcakes/cake - any other ideas to go with the sesame street theme.

Decorations - Big T's and the number 2 cut out of poster board - not sure what else, maybe some balloons.  I have a ton of sand pails and can use for decorations and or things to hold food.

 Any ideas would be awesome!

TIA

Re: Sesame Street Birthday Ideas

  • Here is an amazing SS party to get you inspired.

The games sound cute...you could also give each child a page out of a SS coloring book to color when they arrive and hang them on a line with a clothes pin as decor.

  • My twin nephews love Bert and Ernie and will routinely do Bert's pigeon dance.  My sister will put the Doing the pigeon song on and the kids will dance to it.

Or a counting game to represent The Count.

There is also a new veggie monster so a tray of kid friendly vegetables might be a good addition.   My twin nephews love baby carrots while my DD loves cucumber slices.

There is no veggie monster character, but a veggie tray is a great idea.

  • Wow...pretty nice ideas...hope to implement soon :)
  • I did an Elmo party for my son's 2nd bday.  I did adorable Elmo cupcakes.  Photos in my blog.  You could do Elmo and Cookie Monster...they would be adorable.  I have instructions too.
