Could you recomend a neurologist?

I have been having the worse migraines lately. I had 2 this week already. I have been to 3 different doctors already. I have had MRI's done already and have no idea what is causing them. I have been on prevenative medicine and also meds for when I get the migraine. I am currently on no meds and need to see a doctor for a new prescription. Could you please recomend one. Thanks

Re: Could you recomend a neurologist?

  • I saw Dr. Korennaya in Cumberland while I was pg w/J.

it took for-ev-er to get in for my appointment and I got the impression that was common. My appt was at 10 and I was seen just after noon. She was a little curt, but overall, I did like her.

  • no recs as i'm not in RI but if you haven't tried treximet yet, i'd definitely ask about it. that is the only thing that seems to work once a migraine hits. hope you can find a good doc to help you, migraines are so awful!

  • The one I am going to go see when I get off my butt and get a referral is Dr. L'Europa  at Neurohealth in Warwick.
  • I love DR Johnson in EP.  He is great and really listens to your needs.  I went to DR Leuropa in teh past and hated him...went 2 diff times for 2 diff things too (last time was for headaches and i ended up in teh hospital with a reaction to a med he gave me. I won't get into it, but the way they distributed meds was crazy and he was jsut into making money and increasing his enterprise into what is is today.  When I went to him when I was younger, my mom had mentioned she didn't liek him for some reason and she never told me b/c she wante dme to have an open mind when I was referred to him by my dr.  After having my issues w/ him, I waited forever to do something about my headaches and finally went to Dr Johnson.  he has finally gotten them undercontrol and helps me when they get bad, even understands stress and helps me with that.  oh, and he helped me when I had some issues with numbness too.  he is just so nice...have i said that already.  :)  I just hate DR Leuropa and have heard others say teh same.  If you go to him, I hope yo hav e abetter experience than I did and others I know too.  GL
  • Maybe I will try Dr.Johnston. I went to Dr.Leuropa before and I didnt like him. He put me on all kinds of meds, made me go to physical therapy for the headaches (which by the way was 3 times a week at a $20 co-pay each time) and was just rude. I was not a fan.
  • I forgot to mention the PT in the basement of his building (well, was in basement until he built that huge place now).  He had me go to PT a lot too and I was annoyed at that too, it was not helping at all.  I actually do go to a chiro, started for my back when I was PG and then aftre, but I also have him help my neck for my headaches.  When I told Dr Johnson this he just says that is good too.  Dr Johnson had me going every 6 months to check my meds and check in on everything, but just Tues he changed me to yearly visits. Good Luck, I bet you will liek him.  I will tell you he does like to talk. :)   but it is all about what/why he is doing whatever he chooses for you.
