Thank you girls :-)
I just got home about an hour ago. We went in around 7 am, and the procedure started around 8:45. The doctors tried three times with no luck. They got her to move from my right rib to my left rib... They gave me something called "Terb" to relax the uterus. It was definitely uncomfortable, but not nearly as bad as I expected. The doctors said I was handling it really well and "they could picture me having a natural birth" (uh, ya, I wish...).
My doctor said we could try again next week, with an epidural - to further relax the uterus, and if it fails again, she would perform a c-section immediately after. She left, without doing an internal, and had the nurses monitor babe's heart rate for another hour. Before they discharged me, they did an internal and I was 4 cm dilated and 60% effaced... So they called my doctor and her response was, "Hmm I just don't know what to do with her, I don't think she'll make into next week."
So now I'm patiently waiting for my doctor to call me with an updated game plan, since no one thinks I'll make it another week. I'm really disappointed it didn't work out; the entire time I was just praying that it would work. I always thought I'd be one of those women with a really stubborn cervix, and that I'd be waaaay late...breech was the last thing on my mind.
Thank you all so much for the support, love you girls!!!
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
I'm so sorry it didn't work, Tay!
But the good thing is....it looks like you'll be meeting Baby Shelton soon!
Aww man! I'm sorry it didn't work!
But it sounds like you'll get to meet Baby S sooner rather than later which is so exciting!
Keep us updated on the plans!
