Any Members of Children's Museums?

I am thinking of becoming a member of The Poughkeepsie Children's Museum.  Anyone a member?

I was looking at their packages and thinking of doing the one where I can go for free to other places (Stepping Stones in Norwalk and Please Touch in Philadelphia- since we are close to Norwalk and we will be going to Philly often).

Over the summer I am using a girl 1-2 days a week for Jack who will take him to the Poughkeepsie Museum (he went with her Wednesday for the first time).  He is very active and will only be more once he walks by himself so I am trying to make is easier on those who watch him too.

Any feedback is welcomed!

  • We are not members but check the other sites and see if the Poughkeepsie one has the best price for this option or if you would get better perks at another one.  Stepping Stones in Norwalk is a great one.

I never found enough stuff to do in the poughkeepsie one to think about being a member. Have they added a lot?

I will look into that thanks!  I haven't even been in Poughkeepsie yet, just Jack and his sitter so far.  I am just thinking too for the fall when I have #2 the places are indoor to take Jack and baby to in bad weather.  If he is anything like me, and so far he is, he will need to be active and busy.

  • We aren't members yet but sicne we are staying in the area, I'm thinking about getting the joint membership in the fall so that we can go to Stepping Stones and Poughkeepsie often in the cooler months.  We took G to Poughkeepsie in December and he loved it!

  • My brother and sister-in-law got a reciprocal membership from the Association of Children's Museums which they love using when they travel:  http://www.childrensmuseums.org/visit/reciprocal.htm  If you're interested in how children's museums got started and why they're so important, you may want to watch GREAT MUSEUMS' Mind Over Matter about the Boston Children's Museum for free on Hulu:  http://www.childrensmuseums.org/visit/reciprocal.htm

    Enjoy!
