NJ Family planning a Vacation in Myrtle Beach but where to stay?

So I am planning our family vacation for Myrtle Beach in early June but I am so confused on where to stay?  North, South Central.

We will have our cars with us (driving down) so we can go places but I am looking for rent a 2-3 bedroom/2 bath condo near the beach and near the activities.  Can you recommend a place?

Is there a boardwalk there?  Stuff for kids to do?

 TIA!

Re: NJ Family planning a Vacation in Myrtle Beach but where to stay?

  • We have been going to Myrtle since the late '80s, and we always stay in North Myrtle, specifically Kingston Plantation.  Tons of condo options, and they have their own private little water park with a lazy river and pools and whatnot.  North Myrtle is much quieter than staying along the Grand Strand, but you're still just a few minutes down 17 from everything.  I couldn't recommend the place more.
  • We went to Myrtle Beach in September '10.  It was a wonderful vacation.  We stayed on the beach at the Wyndham Beach Club.  It was awesome! The lazy river, three pools, beach access, gym... it was all great! Loved it!
  • We went to Myrtle beach for our honey moon and stayed at the Sea Glass Towers. It was so close to absolutely everything! The view was gorgeous, and I'm pretty sure they have 2-3 bedroom suites. Compared to N. Myrtle, yes it's a bit noisier and busier, but it's very central to a lot of activities and if you do have to drive, it's like a five minute drive anywhere.
