Day trips or Weekend trips from Chicago to....?
I'm still a knottie (but soon to be a nestie in 5 months!)
Anyways, the FI and I are itching to get out of the city for a day or weekend, but we don't know where to go! We don't have any vacation planned until our honeymoon- so I just need a little exploration time in a new place to get my fix 
So where is a good place to go outside Chicago that it doesn't have to be summer to enjoy...we are hoping to escape this next coming weekend!

Milwaukee (Miller brewing tour, Harley Museum)
DT Indianapolis (3 hr drive and there dt area is kinda cool)
St Louis, MO (Supercross will be there April 9 which is fun) I think the Budweiser and Latrobe breweries are in St Louis too.
I do not recommend Timber Ridge in Lake Geneva (Grand Geneva was booked). H and I went there in the fall and it was very annoying being in a hotel full of loud bratty kids. But DT LG is fun for spas/shopping/eating/bars though. Def not more than 1 night needed if its not summer though.
