br: When to send out invites?

LJ's bday is 5/21 (the end of the world, apparently).  When would you stick birthday invites in the mail?

As far as the end of the world....doesn't the Bible say "it will be like a theft in the night'? Hm...doesn't seem like a theft when people have it planned! :-)

We plan to send out invites 2-3 weeks in advance. All family/friends already know anyway, so it's basically a reminder :-)

What?! 2012?  They need to get their story straight!

Are you asking for an email rsvp?  We're going to have LOTS of food (too much, as usual... imagine our Christmas party, amplified).  So I want a relatively fixed assumption of guests.

Haha-sorry, changed my response! Yup-I heard 12/21/12 and May 2012. 

I can't decide on the email rsvp. We are inviting way too many people (not my idea, but we can't leave anyone out...) so either way we'll be cooking for a million and a half people ;-) G's boyfriend better be there too, mostly just so his mommy keeps her mommy sane ;-)

That is why it's going to be lobster rolls and filet bites, duh!    We're pulling out all the stops.
